M3 Shoot

Recommended Posts

Cool, an M3 full OBC.

What a great range.

But ahh.... thats right aren't 740is more economical than a E36 M3? It makes sense a E38 V8 would be better on gas since it weighs 400kg more and has another 1.2 litres AND 2 cylinders to pump.

Based on that they must get +1032km range I would say.

Cheers!

One of the next things on the list is sort out my "track" centre pipe. Thinking of 2 straight throughs similiar to yours Josh, maybe a X or H pipe. your e30 has a H pipe on it if I remember correctly? Will have to have a geez soon

nah, when the track pipe is in it replaces the center muffler with a straight pipe.

like this:

\\\---------------|---|--------------\ /-----

///---------------|---|--------------/ \------

^......................^....................^

headers............track/center......2inch into 3.5inch then into muffler back to 2

........................muffler switchout

ascii diagrams ftw

older photo here however missing the center removeble center muffler/track straight pipe (was added after this photo was taken.

Sweet cheers for the info.

You have used the headers that came with the s50? and used 2x2" pipes to retain torque?

Im looking at using straight pipes to bolt into the stock setup with an AA Gen 3 exhaust at the rear. The Australian road regs are quite tight with emissions and noise :S. For street use ill need some high flow bolt in cats. But F@#$ me they are expensive. Have you found any reasonable ones in your time?

Yeah they are here too our Low Volume cert process is pretty much the same as aussie however as mine was put into a 80's car, the law states that if the vehicle came with cats then you need to have cats .. 86 e30's didnt have cats

Have you found any reasonable ones in your time?

Hmm nah .. only stuff on UUC or Turner motorsport.

Just low down torque. I have a dodgy throttle cable too which could be making it seem hesitant. Why not replace the seals for $100? lol

I resealed my one, all the OE seals were out of Germania too.

Mine seemed to be losing oil pressure all the time, made a huge difference afterwards.

E: Change the Vanos filter too, they clog up very easy.
