Creaver 55 Report post Posted July 24, 2011 Taking forever to sort out the videos. In the mean time watch my f**k up with cheap chinese tyres and terrible driving skills haha. Thankfully it dried up later in the day so I could fit the slicks!
melowpuf 19 Report post Posted July 24, 2011 AAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA thats awesome Ian.. You need Williams helmet. Cheers to the organisers for arranging these meets. Now I have to make a track bonnet with big holes. I forgot to take some chicken to cook for lunch.
Hi-Tek 3 Report post Posted July 24, 2011 Lance were you in the blue E34, just behind Ian when I (white Nissan R32 GTR) nearly spun out on turn 9? I've just watched my video of it and I'd just past a Blue E34 on turn 8 and then lost it on the brakes coming into turn 9.
melowpuf 19 Report post Posted July 24, 2011 Yeah that would have been me, probably with my indicators on trying to stay out of your way. Can't recall seeing you on the brakes though. Give you the heeby jeebys did it? Only 2 memorable events of the day were, William in turn one in front of me going sideways and did well to pull out of it.. and a white golf in the distance in my rear view losing it on turn 8 and pointing the wrong way and cars flying every which way to avoid it. Apex 693 Report post Posted July 24, 2011 Cheers Jamez and wicked time you posted there, both you and the car are very fast, was impressed with a few cars out there! My car was performing quite poorly with a fuel cut and well past throw away tyres, was less than a second faster than when it was a stock road car. Needs some more development on the rolling road and new tyre's, its making less power than it was stock and my terminal speeds show that so something is a miss. Either way was a lot of fun, especially when it was wet in the morning, surprised myself and my passengers on how well a FWD can drift that track, held it full opposite look all the way through turn one.. just don't ask me to do it again! Look forward to the next test day.

melowpuf 19 Report post Posted July 27, 2011 What caused it to lose control? Rear lockup under brakes or something? It was the fear of being burnt by the bbq he had just passed.

Hi-Tek 3 Report post Posted July 27, 2011 Yea, pretty much. We were using a new pad compound in the front (Performance Friction 01) but kept our rear pads as they were (Endless N35S). The rear pads are far too aggressive compared with the front...
