If you jack up a car and plan to be under it and don't have stands well you're a dumb f**k!

damn.. dats just .... ehhh stupid??

i usually have a 3 tonne jack, the wheels i took off tucked under the car for "incase" situation (rather have the wheels munted than my face :) ),a jack stand and wheel chocks.

Happened to me in April. I was lucky to say the least.

Learned my lesson the hard way.

There's a dodgy workshop that I frequent occasionally (not by choice) and there's always 3 or 4 cars up on ghetto "stands" comprised of one rim stacked sideways on top of another. Oh, and then there's this one guy - I swear every time I walk in - who's job seems to be pouring petrol while smoking cigarettes

Oh and half the workforce are 12 year olds... but they seem to enjoy it.

If the rims are actually welded together it is not a bad way (if you dont give a phuck about your sills / wrecking the car). Pretty sure most pick-a-parts do it this way as well.

Some people can't even figure out where to stick a 4 post hoist. Tyre shop put a nice big dent in my floor pan (retards).

Compensation? There's a lot of simpletons around when you think about it.

Nah, I just pushed it out later when I had found out. Lesson learned tho, got to keep an eye on people when you have to let other people work on your car.

If my car is ever in a shop for more than 3 days, ill do a random unexpected (by them) visit to make sure everything is legit for that reason
