elmarco 56 Report post Posted October 5, 2011 Always loved these, and wanted one for many years. Just a pity they are as rare as rocking horse sh*t down here or I would have bought one ages ago.... Nice job!
Michael. 2313 Report post Posted October 5, 2011 I rather like these, but prefer them with factory aesthetics.

VeeDub 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2011 Never seen one before! What does the tail look like? This was much more factory (pic a few years back) but with a 40mm drop kit. Imagine stock ride height!

VeeDub 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2011 (edited) Yeah it's definitely a unique shape, but if you like the e30 the shape should grow on you. I hated it for months after I bought it, the more I looked at it the more I grew to appreciate the lines. It was designed in the Karmann factory for Porsche, they didn't like the design so VW made it. There's 10 NZ new Corrados left on the road in NZ so not very many, they were $65k when new in 1990 so didn't sell because of the high price. The rear spoiler comes up at 120km/h automatically and also has a switch on the dash to show off with - automatic rear spoiler = very porsche. It's basically the same running gear as a golf mk2 gti 16v - 1800cc DOHC 16v motor with 5 speed manual, really rev happy and good power, definitely wouldn't call it fast though. Unfortunately the few NZ corrados weren't available in g60 (supercharged) or 2.8 VR6. It's the handling feel that's incredible in them, sticks to the road like sh*t to a blanket. You can see similar lines in the mk1 scirocco (hence why I bought one of those as a project too, the cars just look good next to eachother). M5V8 337 Report post Posted October 5, 2011 my mum used to have a VR6 golf. it would be epic in one of these with a 5 spd behind it. maybe down the road something for your car? then you could sell it to me Well done anyway. Hopefully one day I will get the chance to see this baby in person.

Jump on facebook and check out: www.facebook.com/stanceoff That's a little show we've put together for the VW/Audi guys. We have another one coming up in Feb - it'd be great to see a bunch of BMW representing on the day! My Corrado will be there too
