OM NOM 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2011 Hey Guys, Hows it going. My name is Scott and have been a reletively long time lurker from when I used to have some VW's, although since this is the first time ive actually owned a BMW i figured I might aswell sign up : ). previous car history includes a nissan sentra, then a pair of golf GTi's and finally a vers.9 WRX sti,I sold the last one to take another trip to germany ofcourse!. Anyway onto the latest addition, I picked it up about 2 weeks ago as soon as I got back to NZ and have absolutely no regrets at all, it is a 2001 318ci M Sport with the N42 engine, the reason I chose this model was for economy compared to my old Subaru, so far I have done 1500km in it and have only had to fill up twice so pretty stoked to say the least, plans for the car were to keep it simple and tidy, it currently has some Breyton Vision 18x9's which are great wheels but unfortunately due to some serious curbing from the previous owner im going to be upgrading to something else very soon, currently looking at some 19's to fill the guards a bit more. I have also finished a rather intensive Audio install, once again clean and factory looking and thats basically it at the moment. The car is a Jap import and came into the country November Last year so is in Immaculate condition cosmetically and mechanically, but anyway onto some pics, let me know what you think, and as mentioned, im in the market for a good set of 19" wheels, so if you guys have any Ideas let me know : )

OM NOM 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2011 (edited) Welcome Scott, seen the light huh:- Nice car What about getting the curbing repaired - feasible? HAHA seen the light indeed! : ). I considered getting the wheels repaired and ive dealt with arrow before, but I figure if i'm gonna drop some money onto something I atleast would like it to look different? lol, need to do something in the next couple of weeks so am open to opinions on styles or even if anyone knows of someone cheap that does good repair jobs in the auckland area? but probably leaning more towards a nice set of 19's EDIT: the curbing damage is really quite bad on three of the 4 wheels hence why im leaning towards new wheels . OM NOM 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2011 Welcome. Looks like a nice example. Glad to hear the 318is are 'very exciting' cheers guys!, surprisingly so, though everytime I drive this I find I have a bigger smile on my face than I did in the STi which was 6spd and twice the kw? go figure hey, must be a Euro thing.. I'm glad you guys like the number plate, ive become a bit tired of trying to explain what it means to people "not in the know" so its a refreshing change. @Pjay, Ive seen your car before over on the north shore a while ago?, before the fluro wheels though I just remember your plate. looks great man, awesome stance! @Kaz, you know where to find me bud haha finally as for audio details, Ill try pop some up later on with pics of the install . Michael. 2313 Report post Posted November 2, 2011 it's a 318ci. Nice car I want the plate. I was actually meaning it in a plural 318i(s) Therefore I should have said 318ci(s) / 318cis - but I couldn't be bothered.
