jjs 64 Report post Posted January 26, 2012 A mate of mine has a nice NZ new 1996 328i Sedan in black with black leather, 5 speed manual travelled 180km. Its very straight and drives well. He is heading away and wants to sell it. What is it worth? Would anyone here be interested in it?

1rotty 40 Report post Posted January 26, 2012 Sorry but I agree with the $5 - $6 1/2k estimates. If you want it to sell...good luck with the sale
Wom 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2012 $6,000 starting price would be realistic black, black leather, 2.8l manual, km's aren't too high, NZ new ... it should be worth more than $6k but the current market says no
slvrbmw 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2012 I recently bought a 1997 NZ New E36 328i with 118000km for $4950. Auto, but in mint condition. Unfortunately I think E36 values are at a low point. Except for M3s of course!
Greg111 13 Report post Posted January 27, 2012 You can get a low 100km 2.2 M54 E46 Motorsport for 6k. Prefer this for the money.

Greg111 13 Report post Posted January 27, 2012 No but i'd still take an auto motorsport E46 over a standard E36.
Forrest 35 Report post Posted January 27, 2012 (edited) I've seen atleast one E46 323 manual NZ new 150(ish) k's for 6500 on trademe, silly value, why would you want a $9000 E36 over that. Edited January 27, 2012 by Brams
Neal 541 Report post Posted January 27, 2012 Sounds like some one is trying to talk the price of 328's down? Comparing it with a 325 is not valid they are an older engine technology Recently had my 328 Manual valued by a BMW dealer, written valuation is $9,000 Sounds like you have an an exceptional example. Was giving an indication of what a well looked after standard NZ e36 325i 5 speed eather coupe went for. Car had full dealer history and was garaged day & night. Price has nothing to do with engine technology, more to do with market reality. ( e.g. one of my Mk1 Mini's I brought at the same time for 10% of the BMW's price ended up being worth more ... which is the better car ?) Maybe my old E36 could have reached $5k. I wasn't too worried about the price as I'd had my use out of it and it had owed me nothing for quite some time. Mind you, if someone wants to give me $9K for the E36 328i they can have it tomorrow
