Smac01 12 Report post Posted May 7, 2012 Nice! Reminds me of the red 156 GTA I learnt to drive in. I've always wanted a 156 GTA wagon. As long as they start, Alfa's are great fun to drive.
hotwire 352 Report post Posted May 7, 2012 Wasn't in the workshop for a Selespeed issue was it? Local Fiat/Alfa specialist is kept rather busy sorting issues in the systems. Looks a great example of although I must confess I am not a big Alfa fan myself
_Matt_ 42 Report post Posted May 7, 2012 (edited) Was in because the spark plugs were shot, all 8 :/ Needed a new thermostat and it had a dodgy airbag connection that was bringing up the error. Gearbox has been fine, the + paddle can sometimes play up but that's just electrical I hope. GTA would be nice, 3x the price though Edited May 7, 2012 by _Matt_
Ahmedsinc 414 Report post Posted May 7, 2012 Gotta love the Pininfarina styling! What did this one cost ya? Always been keen on the Alfas but too scared to buy one that's not covered by factory warranty
Greg111 13 Report post Posted May 7, 2012 They do break, more often than most. BUT... they look oh so good! They sound oh so good They go oh so good! Almost makes up for the breakyness.
_Matt_ 42 Report post Posted May 7, 2012 8k I think. Which is alright considering the much cooler wheels, suspension, full exhaust system, adjustable strut bar full leather & bose stereo. The guy who owned it in Jap was an Alfa nut obviously.
hotwire 352 Report post Posted May 7, 2012 Hell of a lot of car for 8g, well done! Alfa's are a quirky car... just never really been my scene. I can certainly understand how people love them though
KwS 2425 Report post Posted May 7, 2012 I loved driving my old 156 V6. The sound the engine made was amazing, and oh so rev happy. Even the 6 speed box was smooth and sweet to shift. I kinda miss it, but dont miss the 2 times it stranded me and the couple of grand i burnt fixing it in the 3 or so months i owned it. I want that engine and box in something more reliable... hmmm The 147s are good looking wee cars, and your example with the mods looks fantastic. Not a fan of the GTAs, only because every 147 GTA in welly seems to be owned by an atshole that cant drive (and think he can just cut everyone off). Apex 693 Report post Posted May 7, 2012 Nice one. There is a rare non GTA three door with all the kit and that brown Italian leather interior that parks outside my office, it has a certain charm to it that only the Italians can do.

m325i 709 Report post Posted May 8, 2012 (edited) I know someone with a 159 Q4 JTS 3.2. Owned 6 months and required a gearbox rebuild. They aren't super quick, (a 330i would smoke it) and they suck they gas like crazy, real crazy. But they look phat and have character. Character goes a long way.
