OK need to update this post.

I now have:

-fresh carpet to put in - shot Kerry. (now to wait for some nice weather to fit it).

-a new gearstick gaiter (just waiting for it now) - shot JayCee

-and also got my winder handle & other bits n pieces sorted just waiting for a total price (some guy on TM).

Now all I need is some Badges & a Gear Knob. Still weighing up whether to pay top price or just buy budget ones. They are seriously just badges to me & have no real value. I only intend to keep them cos the 318i looks rangi with the bog coming out of the badge holes lol so I dont wanna do that to my 320i. Anybody maybe got some second hand roundels lying around that are NOT faded/peeling? CHEAP. Mine have no more colour in the middle only the BMW on the outside. And by cheap I mean less than $10ea (there are some inferior new ones on Trademe for $14 so will buy them unless I can get cheaper).

I think they are called a gaiter.. If you don't have luck here, there's a trader on eBay that specialises in them with several finishes. Been eyeing them up myself haha.

Mean. What price are they on eBay? In USD so thats "almost" 2x NZD? And are they the M3 copy or do they have various options?

I remember buying the "gaiter" and the handbrake one from a US guy but that was ages ago & not sure who it is now...and I sold the gearboot gaiter (didnt have a manual - but I do now, picking it up today). Will start a thread when I get it.

Would have been Matt-B from E30tech...he seems to take a while to ship or make them once ordered.

Top-gaiters (i think) on ebay is good, search BMW boots or gaiters, I've ordered a couple from him...good quality real or faux anything if you ask.

Usually around 35-40 NZD shipped IIRC

Ha, I just ordered a suede one off ebay - its was like $20 us shipped, comes with matching handbrake boot too. You need to keep you surround though - its just the leather.

Just had a look, shipping discounts by £2 per unit, which is lost when having to redirect in NZ so negligable. Even if you could get the price down by the same amount, thats a 33% discount on the product, i dont think its even worth trying on something that only costs £8 is start with, to your door for £12 which is about $40nz

That said, if anyone in wellington is keen....

Long story short, not worth the bother unless someones planning to fly back from the UK in the next few weeks lol. Sorry to derail your thread Malcolm, seems this new is probably your best option anyway

Hey dude i have a brand new gaiter i got of ebay a few weeks ago. its real good quality. but i have sold my e30, and the buyer is picking up sunday and may or may not buy the gaiter. if it doesnt sell il offer it to you at the same price i paid for it. Also dame with front and rear badges i got of ebay brand new. Dont think genuine though but they were like 30 bucks for set i think

Yep. Could be keen on the gaiter (is it plain black or)? And the badges are front & rear specific? (I think the boot is slightly different).

It is plain black leather, has leather grain in it not smooth, looks almost like the gaiter in my grandfathers e90 330

badges are specific yes, 84mm and 72mm with the boot being slightly curved.

Looked to me like you had to remove the Heater box/thingunit to remove it without chopping it up.

and yeah, matt-b from e30tech. I traded a "euro" clock for my set. I even have the best mod of all, LHD Drivers sun visor, bye bye vanity mirror.
