Would you recommend that kind of metallic tint? How is it with phone/GPS signals?

And your M3 will have frameless windows on the front as well, does the tint still look ok on that at the edges? Not worried it'll peel off?

My car had tint when i bought it. AM reception is non-existant :( - FM is fine.

Was a very good job, the tint goes right to the edge of the glass and has had no peeling. You can't tell really.

A few little cosmetic projects on the go with MTOY at the moment.

I stripped and repainted the wing struts last week in prep for a rally and dialled in another few degrees on the wing. Added some subtle decals underneath to match the front :D.

I've had this Strassentech-style front splitter that I bought from Greg way back in 2012, a mate drove my car shortly after I'd fitted it and hocked a curb. It's been gathering dust in my garage ever since waiting me to get my a-into-g. I repaired it today, currently painting. Check out the split..!

Few more layers before clear, then polish, refine & paint protection film application to match my other lip.

I've got some struts on order that'll fit in nicely on this front; my goal is to have it swap-able relatively easily (like the boot). Chances are I'll just keep the carbon one-piece lip for when I fess up for another bumper cover in the future.

Lip turned out better than expected, not bad from off the spray can..! It's going to look a bit better once I flatten the orange peel & apply paint protection film.

I also ordered a set of AGT carbon fiber canards - this'll go on spare bumper with the lip I refurbished for track days etc.

The AGT carbon fiber diffusers have arrived, these are going to look crazy with the s-tech lip

Edit: one more shot from side. Different lip, canards & struts will balance it out nicely

Still waiting for the underbody rear diffuser to be finished, it's cut & put together, but it has taken forever. Almost tempted to just buy one offshore, it'd be way quicker.

Fitted up the restored lip & struts last night, still not sold on the massive canards. I have a set of carbon fiber dive planes on the way which are a little more subtle, going to try them first.

Also have a set of remote in-cabin adjusters for the suspension to fit on - this'll make a difference..!

Haven't actually driven this car since the start of December, and only done 10kms on the new suspension - hope to get some time in the weekend to go for a proper drive & set it up.

Still cant believe how good these wheels look on an E46. Personally think its way better than the stock M3 18s and 19s.

Agreed. I don't know why I didn't like them at first, but they look 10/10 after seeing it in person.

They are a copy of the original ALMS M3 GTR wheel design to an extent ... right down to the spoke numbers.

Some little changes, got the adjusters installed for the rear shocks, man even a couple of clicks of extra stiffness makes a big difference!

Roll cage mocked up - very similar to this. Looking forward to getting this welded in in the next few months

Bought one of these bad boys and had it hardwired by Rapid Radio. Paid for itself already. Also picked up a GPS tracker - super cool, has it's own app and everything.

Picked up a new spare wheel thanks to Mag and Turbo New Lynn. Found a suitable center cap lying round the shop here. I'll be sanding this back and painting it an eye-popping colour presently for shits and giggles.

Finally went to install this steering wheel after it's sat in my shed for a year. Removed old wheel, put this on (without quick release) and gave it the 'yank' test. Managed to bent the center slightly....! Straight in the bin and back to OEM. Can't remember where I bought it but I remember it seemed a bit cheap, must be a fake. f**k driving round with that on the car, my life's worth more than some Chinesium steering wheel.

Polished and ceramic coated these carbon fiber canards, still not sold on em. Bought some more, same thing I'm not 100%

Please get a bigger wing also - There needs to be exactly 5mm clearance between the edge and the mcdonalds drive through barrier

So many fun goodies.

Cage will be like my old E36, I had a similar cage in that for a time, but removed it as it proved to be annoying as it didn't work so well with the seats.

Was just a 4pt type in the rear, really stiffened it up at the back, but made the front feel softer, I would have made it 6 point extending forward to the driver and passenger footwells, that way its stronger again, but not over done with overhead parts making head injury a risk.

Now the seats are in and I'm waiting for cage, I have a new project. Scored an old e46 m3 race bonnet, with cutouts for pins & extinguisher system already in there. Picked up a set of GTR vents from overseas too. Going to get it painted sterling grey to match the body until my Skepple-esque wrap is finalised. This is going to be epic.

Also passed my msnz competition license and started stocking up on safety gear etc ready for the Targa Tour. Should be fun!

Keen to see what it's like - I've just softened the front suspension again - even 13/33 clicks is too hard compared to the rear..! Definitely room to move on the front end if the back stiffens considerable - I'm looking forward.

Ended up being a stupid design when using the factory seats but was ok for a bit.

Once I removed it, was really noticeable just how much softer the rear felt.
