Crazy Dave 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2012 I have one of these kits - Got it because the dye had worn where the seat belt rubs - seems to do a pretty good job. Must give the rest of the seats a good clean sometime. I happened to be passing through Timaru the other day and stopped at Subway for lunch and parked opposite Pelle. Would have gone in for a chat but it was Sunday

jeffbebe 1559 Report post Posted December 5, 2012 kit arrived. Ive watched the instructions vids again will give it a go this wknd and report back the results. I've used similar before and it's worked really well. As long as you prep properly and seal afterwards the colour will be as good as new. Black on black's the easiest to do. It works so well I'm planning to recolour black leather to a light cinnamon. I'll do as much as I can myself but will probably get pro help for the larger areas as you need a decent airbrush to get a nice even cover. Look forward to seeing you results. M5V8 337 Report post Posted December 6, 2012 (edited) product report: drivers seat we are repairing, after cleaning the area as instructed Note the lighter leather along the stitching line. After first treatment final overall I'm pretty happy with the results. If your seat was more worn I'm sure the result would be more drastic. Obviously better than taking to a auto re-trimmer. Looks good. I've just ordered a kit to refurbish an Msport steering wheel I picked up from Brent. Will add some pics when I do it as well.

I was going to get some of this: Visit My Website
jeffbebe 1559 Report post Posted December 7, 2012 so does it build up on the leather, I.E form a coating or is it just colour? I was going to get some of this: Visit My Website It should form a coating like the original one applied in the factory. With larger areas you'd normally use a dye then a topcoat but this DIY kit is an all in one so you don't need to spray on a topcoat afterwards. Not sure how well it'll work on a steering wheel but thought I'd give it a try.
M3_Power 636 Report post Posted January 1, 2013 There's always the OEM option - although probably more expensive:
