NZ BMW 368 Report post Posted March 1, 2013 It was shot at with a Bushmaster assault rifle. Where do they keep them? Boot, our police don't have shot guns from what I understand. I must be honest I think this whole thing has been blown out of proportion. Yesterday I think TVNZ did a live cross all morning from a dark beach before the sun came up where you couldn't see anything and there was no news as such. Only that there was going to be a service/group swim the next day. I have a pretty low opinion of the media in this country as it as and that didn't help. I have no idea why this continues to make headlines days after the event and even if it does require more reporting it's certainly not top of the news stuff. FFS more people will probably be killed by Carl's Jr opening in Queen Street than sharks... A tragedy for his family to be sure but not an important story for the media to keep following. richard 384 Report post Posted March 1, 2013 News in this counthy is pretty simple <House prices on the up ,no rain in the summer too much rain in the winter, a murder every other day, mp's saying stupid things .... Then along comes a shark attack, first one in 30 odd years to kill someone. Jornalists with little or no information are as bad as the shark for savaging the story...... Michael. 2313 Report post Posted March 1, 2013 Yeah the journalism standard here is pretty shoddy.

Driftit 2069 Report post Posted March 1, 2013 Just to add to this. Friend of mine is an air hostess for Jetstar. She walked through Botany mall the other night in Uniform on her way home. Was abused multiple times for Jetstar not wanting to change the flights without charging. What difference is there between the mother of a car crash victim and the mother of a shark attack victim. The Media.... Why should the rules be bent because of media pressure.

Because if they want customer service they have to pay for it... by flying a full-service airline like AirNZ. Nothing against Jetstar, I understand that and I'm happy to fly with them regardless, but Kiwi's all seem to think that they should be amazing, just because AirNZ is sometimes... I remember seeing the CEO quoted as saying to an irate punter who's flight had been delayed and missed her sister's wedding or such like, "well, if it was such an important event, why on earth did you fly with us?" - good point. As a publicity stunt they even claimed they were going to charge to use the toilets in flight.
