m325i 711 Report post Posted August 22, 2005 The coolest has to be a BMW engine conversion eg s50 in e30. So that is excluded.

Guest Andrew Report post Posted August 23, 2005 since i'm turboing the dirty 6 - i vote for that. I just don't see the point in supercharging m20 .
E30stz 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2005 now I think about it, decals are pretty cool in comparison and arent only for horsepower, they look good too.
Carl 3 Report post Posted August 23, 2005 The sound of a supercharger whirring up is oh so much better than the shitty little pfft off a blow off wank valve, that, and JC would agree, is worthy of the cool wall.

JC is not cool, there for anything he deems to be cool probably isn't either.

Guest Spargo Report post Posted August 23, 2005 Active autowerke supercharged S50B32 into an E30 M3 chassis, using M52 aluminium block and 3.3L Precision Performance crank. So, uh, Supercharging it is. If M20, turbo'd.
E30-323ti 66 Report post Posted August 23, 2005 I'd go with the M10 Turbo!! Only a PD (Roots/Screw) supercharger on a V8 (or V12 mmmm) would get my tick. But the chance of me affording a V8 BMW and then buying a PD SC are so slim I'll stick to the M10 turbo reality.

cainchapman 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2005 superchargers are a ghey gimmick Cam, you've been spending too much time in the garage with the doors closed and the motor running!
m325i 711 Report post Posted August 23, 2005 Tell that to anyone who has flown a plane at high altitude. Heard of air density? Cars don't fly though. I quiet like the idea of th reliable jap block in there. That only has to run std and would rip it up all day long. EJ20? Id be scared turboing a 10+ year old N/A motor. It is probably cooler though. cainchapman 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2005 Cars don't fly though. Don't tell Mark Webber. Search the history of the Mercedes CLK-GTR at Le Mans. I'd say that, "I had a spin" is probably an understatement. Video sent to Andrew. Hopefully he can post it.

Just ignore cam, he has a slightly bent outlook on thingsEven though it makes sense to turbo a small engine and supercharge a big one, doesn't that aerial atom have a supercharged 1600cc honda civic engine? That thing goes like the clappers.

That thing goes like the clappers. Thats got as much to do with the fact that it weighs about the same as packet of crisps. The latest Atom has the 2 litre v-tec from the Honda Type R Civic, a car that i have yet to see in NZ, its supercharged to 300bhp I think.
