Sounds like it's had a busy life. Remaining life expectancy depends if it's been looked after. AA check (or similar) is your friend.

Yeah it becomes a how long is a piece of string question.

With that mileage, it depends firstly if it was done on the Motorway A-B at speed or done in the city, short stop start drives.

Unless its a good price with service history, there are probably better ones to try found out there.

Look for three things..

Service History, Service History and Service History.

Make sure it has been done on time, and properly, not just taken to Oil Changers to have some SuperCheap Oil put in but at a dealer or independent specialist with proper oils, filters and all items necessry changed over.

A pre-purchase inspection is also a must.

If it's done those Kms and been looked after it's not a problem, if it's been run into the ground and not maitained you will be buying a lot of issues further down the track which will all cost you $$$

You might think that because the car is so cheap you can afford to fix any problems that come up and still be spending less that what you will pay for a good condition one... This probably won't be the case.

The car you are talking about, if I rember correctly is selling just under 6k. 5700 or 5800 or something.

It is cheap, but nearing 300kms and being sold by a dealer doesn't sound that good to me. I would rather go for one around $10000 and save the trouble and probably money.

But no point in all of us talking about it. Go to the yard and drive it. If it drives nice then maybe you might only have to spend 1-2k and then you will be getting a decent car for $7-8k.

Good luck

^^ what Qube said.

I'm pretty sure I have an idea which one your looking at. with that many kms on it, regardless of history I'd stay away.

There are plenty around the $10k mark with a 3rd of the milage.

If its got a good history who gives a sh*t about the k's, for all anyone knows it could of had a rebuild and be tidier than one half the mileage
