Genuine ACS?

Recommended Posts

Looking at this awesome example of a 740i, but a few things a bit out that I wouldn't mind grabbing some advice/opinions on.

Is it a Genuine ACS? And I noticed on Carjam, the CC rating is 3.5L engine, when these cars should be running a 4.4L.

How do we tell what engine is in the car?

Cheers

A true E38 tuned by ACS, is badged as a S7 and they are much better performance wise. Most likely jusy the body kit? But I wouldnt judge it before actually viewing it in person

Looks like any other mystery Japanese import, they are the best in the worlds at imitating and bastardizing cars so may be worth a thorough inspection if you are genuinely interested... could be a mistake when first registered in NZ, you can basically tell the registering agent you car is a "1995 BMW Banana Elephant" and they will register it as such.

Tangent.

As a kid my neighbor had a genuine B7 brand new, cost him near 300k and was magic, it had 19" wheels and this is near 20 years go, wheels alone were over 20k option apparently. So a second hand B7 is a bargain.

The bodykit is somewhat cool....

I'd be absolutely spewing if someone sold me a 740i and it was really a 735i.

How do you tell from the Vin what the engine is? Cheers

Go to somewhere like www.realoem.com and enter the last 7 digits of the chassis number/VIN.
