HaNs 226 Report post Posted September 24, 2013 so much for just daily driving it! also get these instead Daily once the A3 sells. Going 9.5" wide NUE's. Thinking the same colour as these
HaNs 226 Report post Posted September 24, 2013 Nice one Hans. Think it needs a crazy turbo and manual conversion! Manual is top of the list! Once my A3 sells. Have been looking at turbo kits, only real option is a custom top mount turbo manifold. Would be easy to get a decent and well priced manifold if the steering rack wasnt on the way! If i go FI id say it will be supercharged unless i win lotto

HaNs 226 Report post Posted September 27, 2013 Front bushes done. 4.8L of oil removed, put back in 6.5... P/S topped up Next up front brakes and front tyres. Then off for a WOF Sounds like there is a vac leak under the intake manifold? When you give it throttle it seems to go away. Should it sound like that or is something poked? It seems to idle fine. Looks to be a bit of play in the P/S rack also...another thing for the list...
2052NV 43 Report post Posted September 29, 2013 if there is a vac leak it will run like arse all the time, its probably just air wizzing through a one way valve or something
HaNs 226 Report post Posted September 30, 2013 Removing body trims to clean behind them and treat them, going to try trim treatment first. If that doesnt last i will use black bumper paint. Have tried linseed oil in the past but found it goes patchy after a month or so in the weather. Need a good wash behinds its ears!
HaNs 226 Report post Posted September 30, 2013 Pulled out OBC and did the LCD fix...but it seems my issue is the blown LED's. Will head to jaycar and try and find some wedge LED's i can modify to work

HaNs 226 Report post Posted October 2, 2013 Weight loss Found this perished hose under the intake manifold, went from some canister to the sump. Only happened to find it due to it leaving a large pile of oil on the driveway. Cut it shorter for the time being, will get some new hose later in the week. HaNs 226 Report post Posted October 8, 2013 New front and rear brakes done. Roof blasted, will paint tonight. Next up rocker cover gasket, PS flush and maybe a new pump if it doesnt become quiet. Got any spares brent? Then rack ends... Thinking about rear diffs for when i go manual, would like a LSD of some sort. What ratio would suit the car? 3.15? Best to just grab a M3 diff(seem to be $900 on trademe)?
BM WORLD 1283 Report post Posted October 8, 2013 yes have most parts. m3 diff wont fit your driveshaft or axles , might as well buy a cheaper med lsd diff from a e30 e28 e24 e34 etc then swap parts around
HaNs 226 Report post Posted October 8, 2013 yes have most parts. m3 diff wont fit your driveshaft or axles , might as well buy a cheaper med lsd diff from a e30 e28 e24 e34 etc then swap parts around So chuck internals like this in my diff? http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E30-Differential-3-25-Ratio-Ring-Pinion-Set-LSD-Medium-188mm-E28-E34-E36-/221290807220?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3385f5bfb4&vxp=mtr Then say a OBX lsd? Ahmedsinc 414 Report post Posted October 8, 2013 Easiest to start with a 3,15 open & jam a limited slip center in. Teardown is easy & as long as you use the same shims in the same place they came from it works fine. Just best to confirm lash with some paste to be 100% confident. Throw the open center back into the donor diff & make back a little of your expenses
