Jimocles 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2005 I only go out with girls who smoke because I can't be arsed taking sh*t about it. and it makes you look cooler and tougher. that said, I still like the no smoking in bars thing, it helps me cut down a hell of a lot, maybe one smoke an hour now instead of incessant chain smoking. well except when bars smell like feet, then a nice masking odour of smoke is not a bad thing

Carl 3 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 Why did you smokers start smoking, thatls what I want to know... Did you get sold on the image of smoking or the feel/taste of it? Did you start through peer pressure or to be a part of a crowd? Did you start out of teenage rebellion?

Jazzbass 1 Report post Posted October 13, 2005 (edited) My perspective - having lost too many family and friends to cancer & heart deaths attributed to tobacco, is that the main problem with the leaf is that is doesn't kill people fast enough. If it only took 5 years to die - no-one would have any illusions about it. Because it may take 40+ years to kill you, people still suffer under the illusion that its an acceptable health risk... The health system can't successfully fight ignorance or stupidity! :banghead: I'd say don't even bother trying to argue the facts with a smoker - addiction clouds judgement everytime. Edited October 13, 2005 by Jazzbass
