Want to borrow pickle fork

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have a pickle fork I could use for a few hours tomorrow? Munted my hand today trying to take off my control arms on my e36. Was the ball joint that sits on the hub

Cheers

Last time i did my front arms my fork did not work. What did work was using a blowtorch from bunnings, and heating the hub around where the ball joint goes through, and then hitting the hub (same place you heated) with a hammer until the ball joint just pops out. Worked a treat (just remember ear plugs).

E: corrected term from arm to hub.

Consider getting some spare ball joint boots and springs incase you rip it or find it ripped. I got some from Sas suspension for like $5 each.

This wont damage the ball joint. Its a well tried and true method.

Get tool like andy has. But get a steel one. The cast iron ones snap like nobodys business
