Any alarm techs here?

Recommended Posts

Having this problem with the house alarm false alarming. Code is for the outdoor siren tamper. Had to chop the power cable and pull the battery out to stop the bloody thing.

I'm thinking likely a bad tamper switch in the siren box? Took the cover off yesterday and cleaned the cobwebs out but couldn't see anything obvious.

Please save me before I get raped by ADT.

It's probably someone trying to break into your house, they just needed you to disconnect your alarm...

Could be worn wiring from the siren to whatever is controlling it .. Toasty (Connor) introduced me to this handy electrical tool which pushes a signal through a wire and there's another wand thing which bleeps when it detects the signal along the wire. Using that we were able to track down that one of a strand of copper wire had finally given up the ghost to corrosion randomly over time and easy fix after that!

I'd say it's the battery in either the siren on the main unit. That's usually 99% of our call outs at work

No battery in the siren unit, only one in the board. It's supposed to warn of failing battery but I guess we all know how useful those sortta things are...
