Smac01 12 Report post Posted January 22, 2015 I know this is unlikely... But does anyone know of a spare 1.4 TSI twin charged VW engine for sale? It's the BLG engine. Long story, as well as a long shot. Cheers guys

Smac01 12 Report post Posted January 22, 2015 Skipped chain I think, lost compression. Best case = bent valves.

BMTHUG 1057 Report post Posted February 4, 2015 Give Rob at Euroline a call. Under the Parts Connection umbrella. That's where I got the last one for a clients car and our old Polo courtesy car

B.M.W Ltd 950 Report post Posted February 4, 2015 Simon... you'll be very lucky to get / buy a second hand hand grenade. Qualitat can do the repair for approx $3,000 with their new chain kits. Depends on the damage. More damage is created while driving as against failure on start up.
Smac01 12 Report post Posted February 4, 2015 Agree Glenn - I've sold it to someone with the skills to rebuild the engine themselves. Wasn't worth going down the path of a second hand engine to risk it again. Sometimes you just take it as a learning and move on (and away from VW). Smac01 12 Report post Posted February 4, 2015 The best case was bent valves, but more likely pistons etc. The engine had lost compression.

jom 98 Report post Posted February 5, 2015 And with ALL the 4 cylinder VW/Audi/Skoda engines - Check the high pressure fuel pump cam bucket every oil service unless you want a $1500 (or more) experience. God knows why they perpetuate a bad design, or maybe the bean counters do....
