The aftermath of my Dakkar M3

Recommended Posts

Hi,

After a long pause I've finally purchased a car a few months ago. It's an oldie but a goodie.

1971 Porsche 911T

Not quite an E30 M3 or CSL, but you never know what the future brings....

Good work. Are you going to fix up the external, errrr, anomalies? Won't cost much and you'll improve looks and value.

Wow that is such a fantastic car.

All credit to you. Don't see many around really.

Cheers gents. Yes the plan is to change the updated parts. This ain't a 930. The 930 was Porsches internal code for the 911 turbo

And if it was causing confusion, 911T doesn't mean "turbo". It's base spec.

Nigel - I don't mean to be rude calling it base spec by the way - I have one (a not very roadworthy 69T). I think you've made an awesome choice.

Beautiful soulful car's.

Restore it to stock and you have quite an investment there.

cheers mate, Also I spent about 20mins drooling over the Trophy-R in Greenlane. That is an amazing car!!!! wish I had a spare 90k....

Absolutely lovely.

Aubergine?

I think it is, but not sure. The original colour was a metallic gold.

Gold would be nice.

Look forward to seeing it on a Sunday Drive.

I have just brought a classic too so we can have fun at the back of the pack, although yours will make mine seem new at 1990... and mine was only a few thousand dollars! haha

Its bonkers! I wish more manufacturers would go crazy and build cars like Renault and Porsche do. It is a GT3-RS for under 100k, so if you look at that way its not bad value. I have driven one, and can say, you can't beat a factory built and developed special model, the balance and tuning to create something that drives that well can't be emulated with off the shelf parts, you really need a massive amount of time, people and resources to get something as perfect as that.

It is very exclusive, and for a very small market, to 99.9% of people it will make no sense, I for one thought I could emulate the original R26.R from a stock with nice parts, but you simply can't, it has taken me 5 years to build my race car and it is still nothing in comparison.
