kruisn 7 Report post Posted March 27, 2016 Sadly after sixteen years ownership Brenda (my wife) has to reluctantly sell her lovely 318i (Lil Blu) due only to the fact that her mother has to now use a walker which will not fit in the car. We will have to replace it with a Station Wagon or similar, but it will have to be BMW. Lil Blu has been maintained with a lot of enthusiasm and no expense spared. 1990 E30 318i automatic, four door sedan, Atlantis Blue. Very original (still has the auto charge torch). 115000 kilometres Kept garaged Service history 15” X spoke wheels (“basket weaves” is not what they are called) Pirelli P6000 tyres Rego due October 2016 New WOF on 18/3/2016 Maintained by Jerry Claytons and Bavarian Motors Genuine BMW battery New cambelt, brakes, valves, lifters, guides etc at 107000 ks Has excellent upholstery (no rips or worn spots). Usual cracks on dash top. Not sure of worth but thought we would start off around $7000.00 and look for feed back (up or down) from members. We would like it to go to somebody who would also look after it, so we are putting it here on the board first. Car is in Auckland so please reply to forum.

Thomay 4 Report post Posted March 28, 2016 Very nice! would make the perfect runabout. Due to its tidy original condition and the 15" basketweaves id say around the 6k mark would be a fair price, but hey advertise at 7 and you might be able to negotiate ono close to that 7k GLWS

_ethrty-Andy_ 2132 Report post Posted March 28, 2016 yeah i don't see 7 or 6 either for that matter. tidy sure, but tidy in base spec and with 4 doors is not particularly sort after. You can buy manual 325i for 7, SEs and motorsports too. I think 4, if you get it, take the money and run.

Base spec, 4 doors, automatic... None of these things are wrong, and personally I prefer a lower spec car as there is less to go wrong! They are just, at the moment, less desirable than a well-appointed manual coupe which could fetch $6-7k if in very good condition.
kruisn 7 Report post Posted March 29, 2016 (edited) Thank you all for your help/advice. Its great to have such a cool bunch of enthusiastic car nuts. It seems I was a bit out of touch with prices (not buying or selling too often heh heh). No probs to come down a tad or two. Perhaps if enyone is serious they could make an offer, 021855225 everything is negotiable. Quite happy to leave it here for a few days before putting it out to the public. Happy BMW-ering. Allanw 1071 Report post Posted March 29, 2016 Just for comparisons sake, I sold Dads NZ New 1990 325i SE Manual Sedan for $8K, sight unseen, to the second enquiry (first was a DREAMER!) We're in Whangarei, he's in Christchurch. The sale was about a 3 minute phonecall... he just wanted it, and offered cash in the bank that night, no questions except, would I trust it to drive to CHCH! I stretched it out, to make sure he knew what he was getting (it's not perfect! 235K-ish, but damn honest and tidy). I originally had had it $8800 no reserve, or $9200 buy now. I think, overall, it's not as nice as yours, but it a lot more desirable (especially to older guys, with money ) Details: http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/54221-e30-respect/ Paul from Milland had a PFL 318i Coupe, that was IMMACULATE, seriously immaculate, and the previous owner had it 27 years, with a service history from dealers only, and I think he was looking at similar prices to Dads. I don't know what your's is worth, but it's worth a certain amount, to just the right person An unmolested minter is genrally a better car, than a more powerful shitter . The 15's are still worth a bit too, but some buyers won't appreciate them for what they cost to buy a decent set.
Mr Vapour 76 Report post Posted March 29, 2016 A friend of mine has an almost identical car, owned it since it was 6 months old. Still has the headlight covers on it. She also has a 330 that never leaves the shed as she prefers the e30. Can you please let us know how much you get for it as my friend is interested to know what its worth. bga 96 Report post Posted March 29, 2016 325 manual SE and 318 auto base are worlds apart in terms of desirability and therefore pricing, this one is really nice though and low k's to boot... if only it was a 2 door manual I'd be all over it like a rash, best of luck with sale
