Jacko 2156 Report post Posted November 10, 2019 Anyone found a nice fix for the rubberised paint on interior bits peeling off? Plastidip? Or is there anything more suited to fixing it
hqstu 780 Report post Posted November 10, 2019 Just take it all off with turps, slowly and carefully...
Sammo 2544 Report post Posted January 27, 2020 I used a mix of satin and matte black paint to get mine right. Looks fine, but does not feel amazing - not sure how plastidip would go, worth a try I think as new console parts are a bit spendy for what they are. M3AN 4016 Report post Posted January 27, 2020 (edited) I think plasti-dip would be my preference over paint but it gets tacky when it's hot so it might actually be a terrible idea for an interior. There's black plastic under that rubberised coating so, as @hqstu suggests, I might try and remove that coating. The problem is there's just so much of it but the cup holder(s) are somewhat discrete so trying there (back one at least) is probably low risk. NZ BMW 368 Report post Posted January 27, 2020 (edited) My E70 suffered this on the steering wheel. I just removed it all - not as nice but better than peeling. I think if you could do it (or get it done) well by someone a vinyl wrap would look good and be durable. But obviously not inside cup holders.
