Thought this might be a good place to ask. Anyone here got a spare ccc Idrive screen left over from an upgrade they’d be wanting to sell for cheap?

The flip up one? You can have mine for postage (fully working and faultless screen when removed) if whoever buys the car doesn't want it.

You could expedite of course if you buy the car. 😉

Brake Pads - What to get....

I know this has no doubt been covered before but I can't find it with the search function. I use my 130 for bit of daily driving, dual car sprints here at Taupo and also the Targa Tour. What pads, front and rear, do people suggest? I'm not looking for the absolute best stopping power but something that will last the distance on the track - 6 laps - and the Tour stages, which can be quite demanding on brakes depending on the stage.

Look forward to the suggestions

Cheers people 🙂

Yep that’s the one! That would be ideal. Let me know if/once you’re able to let it go. Haha it is a lovely car but I’ve got too many cars already.

I’ve got parts leftover from 2 I made 1 decent out of. The screen is toast, casings are damaged so the only useful bits are the cable and flipping motor drive mechanism.

Pagid, Hawk or Endless in that order.

Avoid EBC at all costs. Utter trash on the track. Had material fall off the backing plates and material crumble like pie crust. A number of others also experienced this in the BMW race series. EBC ignored my concerns so I actively tell people to avoid them.

Sold my nice blue 130i.  Will actually miss it.  I didn't drive it much but it changed gear so smoothly compared to the horrible LCI GM box in my white one.

Not a lot of interest in the manual car down this way.  Everyone seems to be in Auckland and they are all so flakey.  I think maybe I am giving too much info in the ad and should be targeting the clueless BMW owner.  Might just hold onto it as it is so good to drive.  Clean it up further.

Been working away at rescuing this 08’ auto that had a suspected stretched timing chain. Turns out it’s got the same issue as my black one - Worn out exhaust cam bearings. A few little cosmetic things to do and she’ll be up for sale.

Ah you could easily mistake that for multiple lifters having failed.
Is this due to infrequent oil servicing?

Good for a track focused 130i.

Thanks for that. They're actually on special at the moment at Race Brakes for $285 so will probably go that way. Cheers!!

Not too sure, possibly low on oil. Last service it had in March i think they only put 4.5l in it, as when I drove it home from Hamilton it pretty much straight away asked for more oil. Checking the level in mm I put 2l in and it was around 72mm at normal temp on a flat surface.

$478 for full set from Race Brakes so I'm real happy with that. $404 saving on full price 😜 😁

That is a really good price for a full set.  Wow.
I'm going to give them a call.
