[to the uneducated ] You're looking for the exact opposite of this, use a torch and look along the length where the head meets the rocker cover. Its the lowest point, so it collects on the ledge before dripping over onto the exhaust manifolds. If rocker gasket has just been done, it could be residual oil/degreaser from them cleaning up, or it could be another leak (first thing to check if does has fresh oil along the ledge is bolt torques, if its a silver top could also be broken bolt/s) Edited August 12 by Jacko 1

Danch 56 Report post Posted Sunday at 06:37 AM Just an update on the water leak issue. After cleaning the rear light gasket and reinstalling, I noticed that the passenger side was leaking instead of the driver side this time. I've tightened the bolts further and the lights are not leaking anymore

Thanks, it's a stock exhaust with N55 135i muffler. Took me a while to find one!
Driftit 2248 Report post Posted Sunday at 11:32 AM Did the oil Cooler and Oil filter housing gaskets today on my runabout. I should not have left this so long. I made the mistake of thinking no drips on the ground no major leak. Just spent 3 hours cleaning off the caked on oil and dirt.. She was thick. 1
Driftit 2248 Report post Posted Monday at 06:51 AM (edited) Anyone ever had an issue where the system doesn't respond when you request any of the service resets? Either via the dash or coding? Mine no longer responds. I did find this but nothing else. Maximum Resets Reached: The CBS (Condition Based Service) system in BMWs, including the E87, allows a limited number of resets. Once this limit is reached, the system may not allow further resets. Ah never mind. I'm being punished for changing my oil too often I think. I just did 10,000kms on the last one. But the 10 or so before this one were at 7500km intervals. The remaining percentage is greater than 80% - The time and date have not been set Just need to figure out what the "percentage" is. Details here. https://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/threads/bmws-condition-based-service-cbs.8509/ Edited Monday at 07:10 AM by Driftit
M3AN 4197 Report post Posted Monday at 07:18 AM I had a devil of a time resetting my brake pad CBS warning, which I found particularly annoying because, well we have physical sensors for that, and the pads were thick-as, sensors not tripped. Anyway, I had to reset the CBS warning I think three times, with some driving in between (presumably because you need to run some miles for a new reset to have actually new data). This was simply done through iDrive, not ISTA. Having said that, I never encountered any errors or such, just some head scratching, and self reflection on general competency, until brute force worked. I cottoned on to this because when I retrofitted cruise control, I had to reset the steering angle sensor at least twice, possibly three times, before it stuck, even though it said successful every time. Jacko 2389 Report post Posted Monday at 07:23 AM I have done the good 130 every 7000 for the last 10 years, but I screwed with the coding for the CBS, so now it triggers every 7k ish anyway... never had that error before though!
M3AN 4197 Report post Posted Monday at 07:53 AM (edited) Another suggestion: if you're looking after your own vehicles, set the CBS metrics to the moon, I think I was able to change them all to 300,000kms and 2035 or similar. The whole CBS thing is mad given some of the "lifetime" claims made for some component consumables. People don't get that "lifetime" means the lifetime of the new car warranty, not the actual car, or owner. Fortunately somebody that will not depend upon CBS purchased mine. Driftit 2248 Report post Posted Monday at 08:32 AM Yeah I might just eliminate it like you did. I have an entirely different system giving me reminders for the fleet. Was just surprised it thinks it knows better and refuses a reset.
Hutty008 70 Report post Posted Thursday at 04:25 AM Anyone after some ignition coils, I ordered them 2 weeks ago and they just turned up today. However I just bought my friends crashed 135i yesterday and it had some Dinan ones just put on it 1500kms before the crash so those will go on my 130i and my Bosch 130i ones which are only 10,000kms old will go on my 125i. Easier to sell these unopened ones that the 10,000kms old ones so here I am. Paid 215 on rock auto would be happy to get 150 back going to a bimmersport member.
BMWALEX478 0 Report post Posted Thursday at 04:34 AM Hi, I wasn’t sure where to ask this but is there any kind person willing to help me with some lighting issue? I have an 07 130i and I’m 80% sure the reason my taillights don’t work is because the frm short circuit count needs to be reset for those lights. However I believe you’ll need a fairly good scan tool to do this. I’m based in east Auckland, Howick area. I have taken it to shops and they tell me I need to spend 1k on a new frm even though everything else seems to be fully functional. (Wof is also on sat😬) Thank you so much in advance, I know it is a big ask.

I will have some 135i brembo's available soon.
