Markings on Chassis rails, E90 335i 2011

A friend just had a PPI done on this car and they mentioned these marks on the left and right chassis rails. 

Are these normal factory markings?

My identical model car doesn't seem to have them, but its also black rather than white and would be hard to see.

I could be wrong but they look like the panel join points.

hmm guy I talk to with a 135i has a pen mark too, just on one side. so seems like it might be a normal thing.

Possibly done during compliance in NZ.

Yeah i think compliance as i found some markings in my jap import wagon when i pulled the carpet up.

yes most newer imports get them , signed by compliance guys ,initials/names etc normally ,

all major crush points get inspected 

ends of chassis rails , ends of side sills etc, A B and C pillars etc
