#E91FUN 15 Report post Posted May 6 Hi All, I'm just back into BMWs, this time with the might M6 V10. Keen to get to know people who may also have an S85. Keen to know the best workshops in Wellington. Also keen on tuning the transmission and possibly ECU. Was wondering of there are any local people who do coding for the basics like window control from key and the like. Cheers, bloody good fun and hope all is well

Harper 601 Report post Posted May 6 (edited) Think I saw this when it was for sale, seemed like a bargain. I was tempted by it Edited May 7 by Harper
paulo 81 Report post Posted May 7 Welcome to Bimmersport, and the roller coaster ride that is S85 ownership... ! nice M6 - a heck of a lot of car for the money. Promo Tuning are Wellington based, and can do tuning - https://www.promotuning.co.nz Pramod, the owner, cloned my S85 DME recently, and I can highly recommend his services. I believe he has owned an e60 M5 or two in the past. 1
Olaf 3405 Report post Posted May 7 (edited) Welcome back Cameron @#E91FUN looks like a tidy e63, well done. Best workshop is Jon Begley (Auto 38) now in Marton. In Wellington talk to Peter at All European Service. Get it into absolute peak order in all areas before you start with the modifications. All of the trouble spots the S85 is known for need to be resolved to ensure you get a great driving and ownership experience. To be fair the downsides of modifying an already expensive and potentially troublesome drivetrain - that will not suffer neglect - , are a low sell price when you're ready to quit it - folks just don't want to take the risk. PS - it's your car, so you do you! Edited May 7 by Olaf PS
TermiPeteNZ 1330 Report post Posted May 17 Welcome back Cameron - has been a while! M6 looks fantastic - there's only one in the BMW Car Club in Welly. @Olaf's recommendations are all good. I just wish Jon was in Welly not Marton [Jon did my rod bearings] Modifications on an M5 are likely to impact resale, and do make sure the essentials are sorted. Love my E60 M5!
