What a strange car to put that much stereo gear into. Not exactly the best body style for “quality sound” to be created I would have thought?

Probably a 20 -30k install in its day. Looking like Alpine F1 components, IE scanspeak made speakers. Seen those at $1200 usd a pair second hand not that long ago. That system is very much top end alpine stuff from the day.
Other than the soft top , great platform of excellent 3 way front stage. Still has kick panel mid bass position which is great compared with door locations.

For anyone who knows their car audio, that is probably worth buying for the extras alone. F1's and those v12 amps are still pretty serious kit. The fact that the custom paneling and enclosures have not failed after two decades is impressive in itself. Those head units in period were an arm and a leg.

I looked at that and thought "what a nightmare" 🤣

I haven't gone and seen it but figure something will have failed and then you have all that aftermarket old stuff to traceback... Not sure what you do with the screens in the boot... Agree niche cool.
