deedub 134 Report post Posted Tuesday at 09:07 AM https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2002-bmw-m3-coupe-46/ 2024 BAT listing. Probably my favourite spec. Steel grey metallic, shadow line trim, cinnamon nappa leather and 19" style 163 wheels. But this one has an LS7 and it sold last year for 87k USD (not far off 150k NZD). But S54 out for an LS7? Way more horsepower, but still. I'd rather the S54. Can understand maybe if it is for the track.
M3AN 4138 Report post Posted Wednesday at 06:20 AM That engine swap is sacrilege if it was by choice. However if the S54 grenaded itself, or somebody hit the money shift, an LS7 in the US would be a reasonable, and much less expensive replacement. A crate V8 only costs a couple of grand over there.

Based on some of the bid comments I think the seller is known for these types of builds and has sold a few project cars on BAT by the sounds of it. My guess is it was intentional. But with what S54's go for he would have got a decent amount of coin for it.
MD13 554 Report post Posted Wednesday at 09:47 PM Very pretty car! Crate engines... still two values per cylinder and pushrods?

The LS7 was more like $12k upwards as a crate motor. Double the torque, nearly double the horsepower and about 25-50kg heavier (depending on what you read. 1
