ED1RTY 2 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 get into the govt coffers. bleed em. sucks bout your ride dude, never cool to see someones sh*t they put a whole lot of time into all smashed up. have a drink on me. Into the coffers? Im not aware of what that means, have had more than one drink now i assure you Gus, yes the m tec 1, im sure it can be plastic welded though and my panelbeater/painter reckons it will be sweet :bounce: As for my insurance, i had just got the car back on the road about 3-4 weeks ago, i had contacted a broker last week. My record isnt to good but i had two companies ready to insure me was just saving for a deposit on the premium.... Does anyone have any reccomended routes through this kind of problem. My backs been feeling a bit wierd since it happened, i mean it was a highway patrol car and i did plow into his front car pusher things it was a real sudden stop Just things like my eyelid though, how will they source them? bimmer boy 21 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 You shouldnt even need to worry about your insurance if it wasnt your fault I dont think? They will have to souce the eyelids from somewhere, just give them some places offshore where you can get them unless you can get them here? Just stick with it, what they broke has to fixed or replaced. Sometimes its not that simple but yeah stand your ground and dont get walked all over by shoddy repairs etc. Seen that happen too often. bumpstop325 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 Take it to the more expensive panel beater in aux. Get everything you can out of them. Dont settle for 2nd best if something isnt right, cry rape until you get it. Dont forget, if it was you that hit the cop. Dont you think they would take you up the arse? Feed it to them. Just like they would do to you. ACC, your back. Make sure the cops over all your medical costs. Stand up for your Rights! If sh*t doesnt happen call the PCA, and speack to them. That will get their A into G, if they dont play the game. And dont let the insurance company write off your car. Make sure the cops pay for a complete restoration and nothing less. Dont forget to have a mechanical check done to. TAKE THE POWER BACK!!! :mosh: FTP
ED1RTY 2 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 Thanks ryan and tim, that helps alot, so just goto the docs and get em to look at my back and show the cops the outcome if i have to do chiropractic etc? I would like the guy that painted my car to get the fix up as i trust he will do a bang up job. So far from what i can see, damage is: *Fender *Front Valance *Kit *Buckled wheel *Both Fogs cracked *Both Indicators broken *Grill *Kidney Grille cracked *Eyelids *Headlights *Some minor chassis damage behind headlight support and front of fender etc The car runs but there it has a pretty weird idle aye, kinda cuts out if you leave it for a minute or so at idle, if you keep the revs up its all good. Ill hear from the cops in the next few days (Monday probably) but will keep you informed.

Guest Andrew Report post Posted June 22, 2006 dude - how the hell did the crash change your SR20-DET into an M20? that just plain sucks.
shadowninja 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2006 1. Sucks to be hit, even if its by the cops. Hopefully you can get the repairs done at the repairer of your choice, but you are somewhat at the mercy of the cops without insurance of your own. 2. If you can't afford to insure your car, you can't afford the car. Simple as that... its like petrol. Get a minimum of TP cover right away. 3. The whole reason we have ACC is to prevent people pursuing medical costs through liability. Thats why the American system is so screwed, sue for $5M for a bit of whiplash. I really don't think he's getting at you personally. Just your comments. Nearly once a week there is someone trying to sound cool by posting about there "gangster thug missions" and run ins with the law while doing 180 down the motorway. Problem is you're just not gonna get any respect bragging about it round here. Especially not in someone elses thread. So if you're gonna cut your springs, bolt some neons on your bimmer and go racin round like an idiot you're probably in the wrong place to talk about it. And console yourself with the likely fact that if you had been in his position, you would probably have decided it would be cheaper & smarter to get the car towed rather than screwing both front rims. ED1RTY 2 Report post Posted June 25, 2006 Ok, still havnt heard from the cops, im gunna ring them this afternoon. I have also been told by a few sources that the police do not have insurance because they are at such a high risk, they carry their own 'insurance,' for problems like this. Also unknown to me until yesterday my uncle used to work with the Police Commissioner!! They still talk so if things start to hit 'bumps' so to speak im sure he can get it to hurry along I have ACC'd my back, got put on to a chiropractor so ill be seeing him tomorrow. B.NORT.T, i have nothing personal againt you, i dont even know you, just saying that if you want to tell people about your car, start another thread. BTW it was good to meet some of the guys on Saturday, now I can put faces to some of the people talking on here!

my_e36 43 Report post Posted June 26, 2006 There's also Euro Collison Repairs in Glen Innes (near Auckland Uni Tamaki campus). They specialise in BMWs. Evans is also good, but they are quite busy, so could be a bit of wait.
