Hey guys, I know it's not a BM but I'm selling it to get back in a proper car so I figure it's ok. I'm selling my 2002 VW Golf 4 Motion VR-6 so I can buy a motorbike and a e28 I've had my eye on for a while. It goes like the clappers and is a great little car. I had issues with the wiring in the flexi hose thinga between the car and the boot lid. The wires had frayed and were shorting out and making things go haywire. Not sure if it'll fix your problems but could be worth a check.

I used to see this around when I lived in Nelson. Be prepared to steam clean the whole interior if you buy it because she was always smoking like a chimney when I saw her driving.

Perhaps a streaking related head injury?

I keep finding myself looking at e46 330i coupes, I don't know much about them though. Thoughts? Am I safer waiting for my perfect e39? Will I get bored with the smaller car? Is there much of a difference in build quality?

There is a lovely old Benz that I am looking at on TradeMe, the only trouble is that I live in Wellington and the car is situated in Auckland. I have wanted a W114 for a long time now (please don't hurt me, I still love BMWs as well). Would any of you Auckland members be kind enough to head out to Titirangi to take it for a test drive on my behalf? If you PM me your bank account number I'll put in enough gas money for a 'spirited' drive out there and back and enough so you can buy yourself a pack of fancy beers, not the shite your missus usually makes you get. This is the plate that's on it now, I've never had a cop look twice at it so I assumed it was fully legal, especially as it's got NZ stamped on it. Is that the same one you're talking about?

It's ABC883 in a Euro style plate which I love. Not sure if it's the original but I'm happy either way!

It's good to hear a bit of its history! I love the colour, I hunted for a good while until I found this one. I bought it off a bloke up in Wellington who had looked after it as well. Paint is still in pretty good nick, rear bumper could use a respray at some point but that's probably only because I'm picky like that. She's not bad on oil now, but I've done pretty frequent oil changes on all my cars so I guess I don't give it a chance to burn any. I'm moving up to Wellington in a months time, I'll let you know when I'm doing a north island roadie and I'll pop in and see you.

Jesus Christ. Mine is a year younger, with 10,00 less kms, the updated tail lights and a stereo that doesn't look like a Japanese ricer called Wong has attacked it. It's just as tidy, with 200cc extra and I've got it insured for $10,000 and I thought I was being cheeky! f**k me.

I've posted it in a previous thread before but check out the wires in the flexible hose that joins the boot lid with the car. On my old e39 there was loose wires that were shorting out and preventing the car going into sleep mode. 15 minutes with some solder and electrical tape and she was sorted.
