gc8r 38 Report post Posted January 4, 2016 Been very busy today with my mate in getting the shocks refreshed. Wanted to go the CSL shocks route but decided against it. Introducing Sachs Performance dampers and springs: The springs are actually Eibach springs with Sachs Part Number on it and seems to lower the car by 15mm Had the front sway bar links changed at the same time so will get some new rear tyres and then get the car aligned properly. Next on the list is the front control arms and tie rods and then off to ray to get the rear end bushes refreshed and reinforcement plates welded on! Pretty much the bottom end of the car has been refreshed with new parts! - Subframe Bushes - Rear Trailing Arm Bushes with Rogue Engineering Shims - Upper and Lower Control Arm bushes - Rear Diff seals - Subframe Reinforced with Reddish Motorsport Reinforcement Plates - Rust proofing the underside - Flex Disc and Associated Parts - Handbrake Shoes and Handbrake Overhaul - Engine Mounts - Rear Swaybar mounts and Endlinks - Exhaust Mounts - Pre Cat O2 Sensors - CPV Replacement with Uprated O Rings - Tie Rods - Front Lower Arm bracket bushes Along with the above, the CSL SMG Tune by Tom via Ray was done and now the car is a now a bloody beast! Just need an alignment because the track is off and the dash is lit up like a Christmas Tree Once I have recovered from the Wallet hemorrhage then the coils and engine oil service will be next thing to do! M3_Power 636 Report post Posted February 10, 2016 (edited) How you liking the new throttle mapping Justin? I did a little tweak there also just to see if you liked it?! Car is also delimited but don't go testing that on public roads!! Also I wouldn't just do the Reddish plates - get the epoxy done also. I did a big write up quite a few years ago on the rear subframe crack and how plates on its own are useless and next to pointless. A very good friend of the owner at Reddish showed him the write up and he basically said, yep, spot on. I liken the rear subframe failure to a coke can with a bolt through it, adding another skin on top of the can does nothing to stop the bolt from pulling out - add some sand or silicon in the can and voila, try pulling that sucker out! gc8r 38 Report post Posted February 10, 2016 The throttle mapping is amazing Tom! I also love the downshifts by the way, makes the car that much smoother. Will look into the Epoxy once I get the Coils/AFM/Valve Adjustment is done! I need to also repaint the steering wheel trim because the Wrap was always a temporary solution.
