Hi Everyone, Haven't stopped by bimmersport in a while, but always a huge BMW (and Porsche) fan, so I thought i'd post and re-introduce myself and my current car. Use to roam around some of the other NZ euro car forums. Currently have an 2009 E90 M3 in Melbourne Red. NZ new and manual not DCT. Thought I'd start a thread for my 740. Bought her a few weeks ago now and haven't really had time to do much due to work and what not. Gave her a quick wash today and snapped a couple of photo's in my driveway. Came with the plates. Body work and interior are pretty damn good for a 20 year old car. Just a few clips missing here and there. Have already fixed an oil leak (loose hose clamp) and squeaking brakes (brand new pads). Given her a good service and installed a new head unit. Previous owner had made quite a mess of the wiring. Still in the process of sorting out whats what.

As it stood this arvo. Did my weekly clean and waiting on an interested party to buy it.

Grinded 2mm off the top of 20 wheels bolts so they didn't sit proud of the 20mm spacers for the e46. Went to bring the car in to fit them then reaslised the missus took the key with her and was away for the day .... So went upstairs and made a sandwich

Both getting a free wash again, only this time both have the sunroofs closed so no puddles inside this time

Ipad mini for Xmas - fits really nicely in dash so wired it up to DICE unit and added a couple of powered USB outlets

are they on trade me? much bigger audience, especially for, lets admit it, weird plates. i feel someone had to say it lol

have heaps in my garage, couple E30 M3s etc but I'm not a 'stays in the box' type collector tho although 2 weeks ago i told my friend who is Lancer Evo mad that i brought an Evo 7 and its in my garage, he was here within the hour, wasn't too happy it was just a toy lol

The rear window blind motor went on mine years and years ago when I owned one and from memory it was the gears grinding so I wedged some tin to tighten it up and it worked, cheap fix, not easy to getin or out tho

OK, first I deleted the rego number out of courtesy to the owner. As per title is it a e39 540 with a badge attached or is it a proper M sport 540???. Some have given their thoughts on it per the limited info and my thanks. Have to admit my first thought was a stick on badge job, muffler been altered etc etc. But never judge a book by its cover GF12585 Assembled Nov 2000 japan rego March 2001 NZ rego October 2003 Sub model M sport.

Very nice. If you change the exhaust, put some straight through oval / box mufflers 2.25-2.25 then fit tips, if you run straight pipes only it will give a pretty average sound. Magnaflow ultra flo or Lukey stainless mufflers from Ebay would do the job perfectly.

Sounds quite allot although I guess they are rare. I honestly have no idea what s50/s52's are worth. It's not a project that is starting anytime soon, basically weighing up options to get a reliable 240 - 280 hp out of an e30.
