My bridgestones are about 8 years old and have similar cracking. Despite being close to worn out the tyres have plenty of wet and dry grip. Shitloads more than any brand new cheap (sub $150) tyre I've ever used. Are they perfect? No. Are they safe? Yes. If they were kingstars I would bin them but a decent brand will be fine.

At the time I got this there was quite a tidy looking black 540i in Wellington. Black with a charcoal looking tone through the lower doors. Nice Ali wheels etc. Sold on TM for $3000. I only saw the TM pics of it but it probably wasn't far off or near to the overall condition of mine 200K KM too. I'd actually seen quite a few here and there. One I had just refreshed the browser and was the latest listing and someone hit the Buynow at $3500 while I was on the phone to the guy! He'd had it listed for maybe 2 minutes? You'll see one or two of these bargain deals a month on Trademe. Just constantly look and look and look and jump on it when it pops up.

Looks amazing. What was the result of the thinning/scuffed/worn leather? I can't see any detail in the after pics. Did they come up awesome too?

Anything worth getting as a cheap daily? Where are they at?

I e-mailed dotcomparts to give me a proper quote as I believed their quote system was wrong, they gave me a proper quote and if I wanted to buy gave me their paypal to send the money to and details. Yeah I didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount on a muffler, I have read alot of good things about the magnaflow and if you have a listen to them on e30's on Youtube they sound good.

Okay so I've just had a promising chat with Mark Stokes from LVV and he is going to pop around for 5 minutes this week or next to give me some pointers and guidelines to follow. Turns out that as long as the car passes their 'chassis stress twist' test, it should be okay being a ute and no passenger issues in the rear happy days

I know Milland has quite a lot of genuine parts, not sure they all are though. Be very aware of the wording a lot of the people like Schmiedman, etc use, words like OE, OEM and "to OE quality" can be very mis-leading. It depends a lot on how much the postage is going to cost, for anything that gets more than slightly large or heavy it adds up pretty quickly - even if you order multiple items at a time, and if you order too much stuff in one go you can get stung for the GST as well. The US seems to be a good place to source stuff at the moment, good exchange rate and reasonable postage with no language barriers!

Brain wave! Shall keep E36 V8 conversion kit and in a year or so time make a 4.3 VVTi 3UZ + W58 5 speed manual track car with a cheap and cheerful E36 Ti hatch back + Cage. Shelved idea for now though, but good to keep options open This kinda thing: Pulled the main conversion parts off the now removed engine. Quite awesome to see how well everything has gone over the last 2 years and 20,000kms of fun driving, especially the beefy headers. Just goes to show mild steel with a thick wall and a good coating is the key!
