WTB / Gauging availability on S54 engines preferably complete and Getrag 420g transmissions. Had a look through forums and seem some for sale in the past but not sure on what sort of pricing or availability there is now. Hopefully looking for both with under 150k kms and in good condition. Still gathering funds for it all so just seeing what’s out there. Will be going into an e46 touring so any tips or leads on that side of things would also be appreciated if anyone’s done similar swaps. Cheers

Hi All, I am unsure if this has already been shared somewhere. But it seems the fastest and easiest way to get a map code. 1. Download BimmerCode app (free version works) and connect your phone through an OBD adapter. 2. Connect to your car and select the Head Unit 3. Click on Activation Codes 4. I needed to select the “00DE Professional Nav system” as this was the only one to generate the correct file. 5. Click on Export and email to yourself. 6. Use this file with the "FSC Generator 1.91" to get your map activation code. There is no need to use a USB stick or ESYS. Simply done in 5 minutes.

Dad dropped off the the prototype this afternoon: And here it is fit to the sensor - I'm very happy with how well this fits for a first prototype. Very happy with how well it fits together and seems I even got the radiuses of the beveled edges right! It fits up nicely to the rail: Planned changes for the next iteration: - Enlarge mounting holes a bit to allow some wiggle room for the mounting bolts - Enlarge hole for sensor nose as I had to file it out slightly in this proto. - Reduce the thickness of the spacer plate. The piece is very solid and I think it will be better to reduce it back to approx 1.5mm so that the o-ring on the nose will sit a little bit lower in the air rail. Dad will also print the next prototype with CF reinforced PETG which should be a suitable end material with sufficient heat resistance for this application. Printing in the target material will allow us to check for any dimensional variance with a different material (proto 1 is just PLA). I think this should turn out well!

A neighbour in my new place parking garage - nice E34 540i on Schnitzers. Also a series 1 RX7 with a great pulse that gets plenty of use.
