Winery tour around Cromwell with a friend, which included a rant from her over lunch about how much she despised driving diesels... We've only done 500km in my diesel 335d so far this week...

Pre facelift and UK import.. it'll be rusted pretty hard. I've seen enough pre facelift firewalls over the years, they rust HARD compared to facelift models. Won't be the only spot either I bet.

If the brakes were still gold some cheeky 555 stickers wouldn't go amiss!

Perfect weather to get these rear calipers painted this weekend. Started off with a sand down with 360 grit to ensure the primer had something to bite into. Then a double wash in wax & grease remover. I should have gone for a hot soap and water scrub first in hindsight. Installed the old dust boots and stuffed rags into the piston bores to keep the paint out. For the bleeder, cross over pipe and inlet I used trimmed down foam ear plugs Saw that in a YouTube video and it works perfectly !! Taped over the mounting surface so it's not sitting on paint. Painting was two coats of 'Paraloc' etching primer, then two coats of 2k single stage polyurethane. I did this 'wet on wet' at the suggestion of the folks at the paint place, so I did not have to wait for the primer to harden and then sand it ... definitely gets my vote as sanding calipers properly would be horrid.

Waking up a dead post here, I BOUGHT IT! Sourced an M Sport Bumper and some Bixenon non-AHL headlights New FRM module (coded by some random guy in Poland for $30). H+R springs and Shocks, 35% tints all round, Style M763 Reps 8.5 and 9.5". Stage 2 @ 375bhp 800nm torque and 6.1l/100km between Auckland to Wellington! I've wanted one for years and this came up being quite rare in NZ and i had to have it. Best daily I've owned!

haha Missed this as I was in the UK! I did this car about 5 years ago! Motor was rebuilt by the magicians at HellBM a while back but was barely driven, I just did the seals and timing belt, waterpump etc as it had been sitting for a while, old owner of the touring originally had a 260 box behind it but the centre hanger bearing crapped out whilst driving and shattered his gearbox casing when the driveshaft came loose, he opted to find a 240 box and shaft to replace it as the 260 boxes were too expensive. The car was good, few rust patches here and there but the engine and drivetrain was good. I opened up the sump on the motor and inspected bearings and opened up the top end and did the valve clearances etc. It was a very solidly built engine from what I remember. This is going back a good 5 years ago now
