  1. Oh that is nice, will PM him. Might buy them and keep them till im "ready" for the upgrade - theres stuff you need to do to make it worthwhile/work well, like sports cats, and some mods for the oxygen/emission sensors

They are a straight bolt on, all sensor holes there etc, check with him but pretty sure no mods required to bolt up.

They were made for an easy transplant.

  2. 'Wayney' on Bimmersport has brand new equal length stainless headers available for your car/engine.

You should really get the car on a dyno(who's to say what pwr you actually have first??) before you fiddle with anything so you can recheck pwr output etc once you have done some major mods.

  3. I know...but what would the HP rating be. I'm very interested to find out how Kerry's one is coming on

Fitting a supercharger would be cheaper etc.Takes heaps (as you know) to get power from N/A.You spend a small fortune on N/A (with disappointing results)Latest TBMW mag has 2.8ltr with drop in supercharger kit (bolt on conversion) 245bhp/236lb.ft base pwr, up to 290 bhp.

    Buy the 3.2ltr M3 engine/box/ecu/driveshaft etc etc on Tradeyou, 8 odd k.

  4. Yes

But I was also thinking of going M54 3.0 litre with the M52 head, M50 manifold, throttle body, shrick cam, valve spring upgrade, bigger injectors, no Vanos, link, alloy flywheel, AND MANUEL with LSD :D

    Its only money <_<

Geeez, thats over the top! I think my option is cheap by comparison. :)

  5. I  my 318Ti because its different

    The power M52B28

Because its all done properly, brakes, suspension etc.. etc

Its great to drive & handles like a dream

    And its friggen quick

    AND ITS GOT A CERT

Glenn, ever thought of putting in the larger diameter intake manifold/larger throttle body/remap = 220bhp?

  6. and there in lies the problem..what IS an msport? and a lot of people call their cars M sport or mtech when they dont have even one mtech or msport option.I think the dealers call the body kit Msport

The single biggest problem is the dilution of the M sport brand, now there is an M sport 316,320, 525, etc.

Thats why everyone is confused & everyone thinks they have an M car, BMW has further diluted the M cars thru mass production line building,100,000 E46 M3's.

  7. You might also want to note that Dinan is an American Tuner and American M3's came out with a completely different engine to the European models. Hence, they may not offer a chip for your car.

Also, as has been pointed out in other threads on this topic, it's worth spending a few extra dollars on having your ECU remapped on a dyno rather than chipping it. Every engine is different and you'll achieve the best results from a tune specifically for your car.

    +1

Be very careful chipping M engines, run them at high rpm with bad tuning chips(too lean etc) & you will burn valves/pistons etc. Have a look on the net, plenty of heads pulled off with the nasty pictures.

GET IT CUSTOM MAPPED IN NZ.

  8. Looks a good tidy install. Does it give a deep induction snd under full throttle/ or are their any benefits or just for looks/snd?

Are you going to bother dropping in the 2.5ltr or just keep it as is?
