Merry Christmas from New York......budding musicians take note of this session. edit:no connection to this video, purely for reference to NY & inspiration

Hello young Paul, any takers or just a long list of plonkers?Your reserve was low considering the $$$ you spent, will catch up sometime when i'm around.
-
Those are the later softline (or something), no dish & have that dopey curved profile on rim, no style like the earlier clean cut lines.

I would recommend an E28 535i or E34 535i,(manual/M suspension could be fitted later as funds allow) must have big block 6 cylinder, you have the capability of painting so you could do it up at your leisure. E28 wise, cant beat Diamond Black, Alpina look. E34 wise, cant beat Diamond Black, full M bodykit. You can't beat the sound of a tuned screaming M30b35 engine on a good exhaust, during dyno runs they sound like a Spitfire engine winding up. E28 Alpina as reference

Not many left in this condition/mileage, extended leather interior. http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/dealer...7&silo=1011

Just get it booked in to Chc BMW for a pre purchase & ask the mechanic to phone you after the inspection so you can discuss it(very important you chat to him). Throwing stars??? mmm the worst looking alloy after turbines, just buy it (if checks out) & fit Alpina alloys.

Why do people tinker with them???Because they are so accomplished(bland), all the reviews state it is the best rear wheel drive saloon, technically that may be correct but the new onr of my 535is sold his & bought my car + an E46 M3.That is why people tinker with them , because after gunning it with 350+HP it still leaves you COLD. He is not the only person who contacted me after owning an E39, So yeah it is worth owning but tinkering improves the driving senses.....have any of you seen the disgusting headers BMW fit to the E39 M5, after you have seen them you will be pi--ed that BMW fitted that horrible setup in an M car, it's the good enough theory i'm afraid in M car mass production, you think you have bought the best but you keep telling yourself that as you blat down the highway muttering the loss of a few driving senses. E39 M5 list of things to do..mmm.. Van Manen stainless headers/ exhaust/remapp.

M5 heavyweight slugger. (Ray's 400HP) http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-293287304.htm Then do this. http://www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk/tuning/...-m5-power.shtml

The kidney grill area is large, best view is the rear looking forward over c pillar/swooping roof etc.Still no rubbing strips up the sides! edit.you have to see the 2 massive bonnet secure catches in the front shell, look an engineering masterpiece.(fancy crash test ones?)

BMW NZ new 5 series info, looks pretty good in the flesh, traditional binnacle of gauges is back, i.e.speedo/rev counter flanked by fuel/temp gauges.
-
Too slow for Ray now, he's been corrupted by too much power/speed.(min pwr required 400HP)

Trademe rental fees are too high now, to list a flat for rent was $29.95, then $39.95,this December/January gone went up to $69.95, just went to list again & now a whopping $99.95!I sent them an email & said i wont list at that price because small 1brm/2brm flats have a high tenant turnover & to pay $100 a pop is too dear. They replied that they are competitive but will pass my concerns to the marketing boys.

What is the best combination of flywheel/clutch for the 540i?(increase clutch pedal weight/feel)

I am constantly asked about exhaust back boxes, Eisenmann make to order, Schmiedmann have the best prices on complete exhaust/back boxes (supersprint/eisenmann etc)Others may know more but no one is talking. I would fit Eisenmann sport to any E34 525i/535i/540i. http://www.schmiedmann.com/5_series/E34/Eq...ning/page12.htm

I have a fully rebuilt high output M30b35 engine available if you want to replace that M60 engine

Congrats on a nice car purchase, good move kitting it MTechnic 2, suits the E30.When you have done all that you can look at buying one of the last M verts built by BMW, there were only 200 or 250 built(can't remember) & were Mtechnic2 with bubble leather interior. If you dont mind have posted link below for you to check out. http://www.wlnautomotive.co.uk/prodpage.cf...CFTOKEN=4542389

Thats a shame! You should have come up for a look/ test drive, you would have driven home in it.

Whats better than a hand built M car? Alpina thats whats better, handbuilt style from the engine/interior/exterior etc. Have posted this car before, would pay double the price of that M5 anyday. http://www.thealpinaregister.com/photo/B10.../saloon/5537/08

Anymore credible offers on this rare car? Tradeyou link http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.as...781&ed=true edit..to give you guys some idea about the 540is they have a split personality, happy to trundle around on the open road without a murmur from the drivetrain at 1200rpm in 6th, but stomp on the right pedal & it comes alive with relentless acceleration thru the gears. Have been asked alot about the other 2 Avus Blue in NZ, never seen them but have been told one is in very poor condition/high mileage & the other is around 200 clicks in very good nick presently getting a makeover. This 540is has always been a Sth.Island car(not ex Jerry Clayton..don't know why people ask me that??)

Vehicle has been sold, you guys missed out on buying one of the best driving 535is in NZ.
