Sorry forgot to say its an m43

My wife's car a 2000 e46 318 sedan has the orange light come on and goes off. Had the car to the stealer and a code read. No specific code came up. the ( I think its called) the pcv valve was replaced the ruptured rocker cover breather hose was replaced. They say the CO sensor is functioning as they could see the voltage changing. I'm not keen on just letting them go looking around without some sort of direction. My question is how many things can be affecting or causing that light to go on? and has anyone got a more spacific reason to be homed in on? Can the catalytic converter be causing the fault and can that be removed without any problems such as more noise or running being altered for the worse. The car has covered 148000kms. No 2 question the interior light at the front does not come on at night but it sometimes comes on during the day what is it about that or those lights there is only the 2 switches and they don't appear to make any difference.

I know this is not a mini forum but this is an very good active one with some very learned members and I was hoping that someone here could help with the problem i have got. The car is a 2005 mini cooper s , it has retracting exterior mirrors and one on the Rh side fails to stop normally and ticks till I push it back a bit. is there a general fix for this or a modification that can be done to remedy the problem?

Thanks very much guys you were quite correct. I put a socket and a power bar onto it and it worked like a dream. all back together and running great.

I cant see a 17 mm anywhere near the pully. there is a 13mm on the pully but not keen to swing on that in case it comes undone. There are two holes that Im wondering if you somehow tension the pully right up, and slide a punch in there, and fit the belt and again somhow pull it out.

Can someone help with the easy way to fit a new serpentine belt back on after replacing leaking oil gasket on filler plate. the car is a 2000 e46 318 Japanese import. There must be a simple way to back the tensioner pulley off but I'm dammed if I can see how it is.

hi there Glenn yup put a new sensor in as well. assuming the rear ones are OK (I'll remove the rear sensor and have a look at it) I have to get it switched off by the stealer? any other options?

I have just replaced the rotors and pads on the front of my wifes car 2000 e46 318. The dash light is still on. Does it need to go into the stealer to have the light turned off? or is there a way of doing that ones self or is there another reason for it to stay on? may be the back ones need replacing also. Although they looked not too bad from underneath. What can i do from here?

Hi there guys can someone give me some advice on what is to be done to the vapour barrier on replacement of the regulator. it appears to be a vital part in the sealing of water from coming into the foot well. last time i did one I thought i had been careful in its removable and particular in its sealing on replacement but the damned thing still leaked. Now on a different door the same problem is in front of me and I wondered if there was some trick to get it right. What do you experts do to prevent this problem from occurring?

^Enough talk the mini is at the moment faster so give us some more pics of the paint job on the car and an update on the press to start date. will the car have a key start or a BMW press button start, Knowing how fussy you are, cutting a hole for the press start button will lighten the car.
