Team can you keep a look out for a Silver 1999 540 (debadged) registration number is "606". The car was stolen yesterday afternoon from The Terrace in Wellington. I'm puzzled how they get around the door being double locked and engine being immobilised. Hope you see it somewhere. Regards Pete

E39 Front Passenger Speaker Crackling
Huttey replied to dereklau007's topic in Audio & In Car Entertainment
Before buying your speakers try another speaker to see if the crackling goes away. I had a similar issue and replaced the speakers only to find the problem was still there and it appears to be an ampifier problem. -
You scored a total of 44 The Lively Center of Attention Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, amusing, practical, and always interesting; someone who's constantly in the center of attention, but sufficiently well-balanced not to let it go to their head. They also see you as kind, considerate, and understanding; someone who'll always cheer them up and help them out.

Jochen, interested in your comment above, when I did mine I could never get the camera working on reverse although it did work when connected to video input. The Camera was supposed to be both NTSC and PAL but seemed to only work on PAL. How do you use your software to change the settings and what else is required.

but seriously see an optometrist

Shape, E30 all the way. I am interested in how people see the 5 series, was E39 the best ever ?
-
Yes I am, what is the width of the wheel 8.5 or 9.5
-
Are all 4 the same width or are they staggered ?
-
Watching it on my computer screen had me grabbing my best friend

He is either dead or this is all orchestrated and there will be a Bob Jones turn around on this and Winston comes out of it peachy clean. Politics are not always obvious

Well that didn't work -
PS Interested to know how you find the 18's on your trip, I have staggered 17's which are great but my mags are boring
-
Congratulations, very envious of the price you paid, watch out for those back roads where you get bored and decide you'll see what a 540 can do, farmers tractors can come up awfully fast, how do I know ..... Ferry crossing this weekend could be fun - cold, wet and windy in Wellytown

Puzzling, try this M5 Ring Drift

Thanks Glenn, I will shop around for a good one in Wellington. Sent you a PM on ABS pump all good now THANKS

Sound like mine, removed ABS pump and sent it to I have covered this before in previous threads. If the ABS is coming up with speed sensor faults, drive the car with the scanner and check live data. If all 4 speed sensors are reading properly and within a 2km speed range at 30kph, the fault is in the circuit board in the ABS control unit. This is very easy to check by an experienced person. Also make sure that tyres sizes are correct, these can also give an ABS fault. Also to confirm its not the sensor, swap them and recheck. There are DIY info on the internet to do this. If you are not comfortable doing this yourself. Get a local brake specialist to take it off for you and send it to Rob: Powerstop Engineering Unit 3 2 Wilrose Place Tauranga Ph. (07) 5788909 Approx $370 Rob will repair the circuit board, flush the pump, check activation, clear memory fault codes and give a 12 month warranty and he does a very neat job too. You cant tell its been apart. All this in two vdays, pack safely when you sevd. Then get the brake specialist to refit it and bleed the brakes for you All done and not too painfull $$$$Sound like mine, removed ABS pump and sent it to Hope this helps Cheers

Try this Mark I · Set ignition to pos. II enter TV mode enter "settings" enter "contrast" when the green contrast bar is visible, push the knob and keep it pressed turn ignition off (keep button pressed!) wait 8-10 seconds (timing must be accurate!) release the knob turn on ignition again Now you can watch TV during driving (but always keep at least one eye on the road - that said) To watch videotext use the same procedure as above, but chose "brightness" instead of "contrast" (thanks to Herbert Posner, who discovered this secret).Mark II · Set ignition to pos.
