Helps when you don't have too many problems with them Grant, touch wood.
-
There is, but once you start playing with the engine position it all changes. If I go with custom mounts I'll need a custom shaft, unless I get lucky.
-
Yeah, I did it in the E28, but only brought it to the inside of the firewall and distributed it from there. Hope to do the same with this one.

Better bring this up to date. I've had it up to Gavin at Hi Velocity, and had it remapped to 170 rwhp, also lowered it 50mm at the back and about 30mm at the front. Had it at Puke last Friday and it felt so much better. Got down to a 1.12.93 on Toyo RA1's after flat spotting my slicks, so think it should do mid to high 1.11's now on slicks. Will do the last meet on the 21st and 22nd of March at Puke with the car as it is. For next year tho, it will be getting new Whiteline sway bars, new Nolathane bushes, and a new heart. I'll have a ported and polished and flowed head, with an uprated cam, and a set of headers. Also going map instead of afm, and another race remap. Will be hoping for something in the 1.09's maybe? Almost forgot, I've found a close ratio dogleg box which is getting serviced, and will go to a 3.25 diff.

I've heard something like that as well, guess I've got a bit of homework to do on that bit.
-
I'm doing a rebuild on the E28 motor at the moment for next season, so will see how that goes and take it from there. Stock at the moment is what I'm saying.
-
Box I'm using in this car cost $600, new clutch was $380, custom front shaft around $600, so, yes it is the expensive bit, but it's the bit that makes it so much fun as well.
-
Bought a runner today, complete motor with loom and ecu, $400.

Welcome, I feel privileged to be the recipient of your maiden post. We can't cut the firewall for the Race series, so just have to push it back as far as we can. We did contemplate mid mounting it, that way we wouldn't be cutting the firewall, but decided that was against the spirit of things.
-
Custom steel fab, will fabricate new mounting points rather than change the mounts I think.
-
Sure is heavy, but, Battery to boot, remove aircon, fibreglass bonnet, and a few other things and it'll be lighter than the 320's in the front.
-
I've got as much as the next guy Graham, it's all about how you use it.
-
Ouch, no truck turbo, if that's what you mean, will have token dash as well.
-
Well, spent Saturday stripping the shell for the next Race project. This one's for Stevo, and, yes it will fit. Will try to document as much as possible as we go, and inform prices as well. This will not be a road car, pure track. Total budget under $8k we hope.
-
He could have, but not with this diff, it won't fit an E36.
-
Standard Med case, go in any E30, or E28 if you change the back plate and input shafts, easy to do. Lockup is 25% ex factory, ramp angle is 45 degrees, ratio is 3.46 I think, would pay to confirm by doing a physical check tho. Looks sweet.
-
Whew, thought so.
-
If it goes in a standard subframe then how can it be longer? The top bolt holes and the hanger bracket determine where it fits? Brent?
-
Think the tag says 45:13 which is 3.46 ratio. Looks like a standard Med case?
-
Unusual, standard 4 bolt input flange, or the universal type?
-
Hi, 6 or 8 bolts on the side covers? Thanks.
