  1. Fairly easy, you can do it by just unbolting the two swing arms and changing them, or take the whole subframe out, Faster to do the swing arm way, no need to drop diff or exhaust. Undo the two brake lines near the diff, and the handbrake cables in the car. Then take the wheels off, and undo the shock and remove the spring, undo the socket bolts on the half shafts. Undo the 2 bolts on each side which hold the swing arm on, a bit fiddly, but can be done, you may find it easier to take the petrol filler hose off to get better access, should then come out. Fitting disc ones is just the reverse.
  2. Cheers Cam, it's now officially entered for the 24th at Puke.
  3. I've got an E34 535i for sale, needs a lot of tlc, and has had some bits taken off, so not complete. It is manual, and still has motor and box. Plates still live, on hold, body is sound, has the lowered suspension, factory etc, leather interior. Would need looking at, does need a lot of time and some parts but has been running in the last 6 months. After $1400 as is, or I'll part it out.
  4. Not sure how to check them, I just changed mine. The timing marks are on the harmonic balancer on the front of the engine, and the ali housing either on the oil filter housing or the cover next to it?
  5. Does sound a bit like timing Ken, so could be crank sender, when did you do the cambelt last? May have lost a tooth or 2? Also check the ECU, I had one die on me, similar symptons. Good luck.
  6. $400 plus a set of ring and pinion gears, 3.91 would be nice.
  7. I have 2 LSD's to sell, a 3.46 and a 3.64, both good working condition out of E28's. They will fit E30 cars, you need a medium case E30 diff and just swap the output shafts and the back plate, very easy. Make an offer? Just kidding, I'm after $850 each, or will swap for an open medium case 3.91 and $700 if you wish, you can even keep the back plate and output shafts if you want.

I have a clutch pack you can fit to any med case diff to make it a LSD, $500 if you're interested?
  9. Just spent a day on the track and never got it past 88 c, I'd suggest you have a heating problem?
  10. Yes, I believe it is the original Hulme car, it was at Puke for the open class end of January this year, but was unable to run due to roll cage issues I think.
  11. Thanks Ken, I've got back to them re those items, and after an assurance they will fit. Is anyone interested in a group buy if it can be arranged? Get back to me.
  12. Can anyone tell me anything about these, and what to ask and look out for? They are a set of mandrel bent tig welded 304 ss RHD headers. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...RTQ:MOTORS:1123
  13. A huge Xmas thanks from the silver fox as well, don't know where I'd vent if you guys weren't here?
  14. Can't afford the spray cans at the moment, so it'll stay as it is. Once the door cards and numbers etc, and the rest of the sponsorship goes on it'll make a difference as well.
  15. Better Martyn? Now for clears.
  16. Happy birthday Russell, see you next Monday.
  17. These were on tme a couple of months ago, I got them off a guy in Whangarei who bought them and decided he didn't want them. Probably won't be there on the 16th, but who knows what may happen yet?
  18. Reminds me to wind the front platforms down a bit. Hope to have it at Puke on the 29th for a play.
  19. Well, it lives. Finally got it running today, early xmas present for me. The engine which I bought off Tardme as a runner, was 180 degrees out of time, reset the timing today and it went first time. Would like to thank Dan Slater of Slater Fabrication for his work on the cage, he's a top class fabricator if anyone needs anything done, over in Glenfield. He told me this morning the timing was out and he was right. Has the seat and harness in, and sitting on schnitzer reps, 17x8 and slicks.
  20. Even over here, we see fields of 8 to 10 in the Minis at the moment, and they've joined the Suzuki's with the production classes to get those fields looking good. Seems the BMW's are the only growing class?
