Hi Guys i have just had my head machined and strightened after a issue i had, i put it on this w.e and after trying to turn the car over, i have noticed it is leaking round the bottom of the cylinder head round each cylinder, i have torqued to 60nm then angle tighted to 33degress please dont say i have done anything wrong, this w.e i am going to tighten to 80nm and do a compression test ANY HELP PELASE

Hi Guys Im wanting to put some more stopping power on my e28 i currently have 15" rims on there, and was wundering if anyone knows what i biggest size rotors i can put onto the car would be or am i going to have to upgrade my rims to something bigger to get some real stopping power Cheers

Hi Guys Finally got my clinder head and drivetrain back, after getting cylinder head surfaced, strightend and pressure tested, and my drive train welded up Got it for 280 all up im quite proud, thanks to Murry in Levin, after being quoted everywehre else 300 just for the cylinder head its great All i need to do is put all the parts in and find me a pipe from my master/slave cylinder and my e28 conversion is compelete

Hi Guys im urgently after a e28 manual gearbox mount and shifter the gearbox is out of a e32 dont know what difference this will make but the mount for it is to wide and the shifter is to long can any one help me out,

Yea best bet read all post's you can find i have a e32 shifter if you need it, it doesnt fit my e28 its too long so im going to have to change it, mine was nice and easy just make sure you have the right bolts and dribveshaft and you will have no problems if you have done a gearbox swap before

I Agree with Ollie just get your bonnet open cause if the door is still deadbolted your not going to get it open even if you get in the car without taking the side panel off, Hope you get in Cheers

Hi Guys im still in the process of doing my conversion to manual and ran into a wee problem, my shift arm is out of a e32 and is way to long for my e28 does anyone have one they are willing to sell to me, even a shorter shift would do as long as it fits in my car with minor mods Please help other wise i cant drive my car gutted.......... Hay Mate Im in the progress of doing one myself you going to be looking at a costly adventure depending on what you are doing to do best bet is talk to Topcat and Damo as they both have done turbo m30 and helped me out alot Turbo Kit 5k installed maybe bit less depending on what you after and how much boost and power you want. My build incluiding engine rebuild is looking at close to 14k mark once turbo kit will be installed and youl need to upgrade brakes etc but talk to the guys are have a look on this forum there has being a few posts i have put up Cheers kym -
Hi Guys just got some prices to get my cylinder head checked for Cracks etc, is arround the 300 normally , cause i kinda pisses me off cause thats more cash on my 2.8l engine just so i can drive it round to my engine is rebuilt. also has anyone had there drivetrain rebalanced as well cause gota get teh coupling welded on for the new gearbox Cheers

Hi Guys i just noticed my new flywheel for my conversion doesnt have the plate behind it, can i use the one off the auto and put it behind the dual mass flywheel also do i need to modify much to put my manual shifter in were my auto changer was, can i just put it in a modify the auto plate to hold the manual shifter Cheers

Hay Guys Im still doing pricing even in nz its all coming in about the same sort of price for everything, ive seen a place in the states that will increase flow on a cylinder head by 18% plus a few mods so im going to a engine reconditioner next week with my 2.8 head to get checked for cracks and have a talk about what sorta price im looking for at refirbing the head, which should be good thanks guys for offers for 2.8 head ill be in contact if they want to much to fix my current one, stil got my issue of my drivetrain gota get it modded to fit the manual but thats cool something ill have to get done. Can i ask has anyone put big brakekits on there bmw if so what sorta price did it cost, just so i have a rough idea cheers

Yee have little faith and so what if you dont have mass control, these cars were built as tanks to show those jap cars who's boss and alot of sideway action never hurt anyone to much, and if all goes to plan it will be a w.e and track car so dont really have to worry to much Red tyres that sounds fun, but i think ill rip my orginal michelin tyres that came orginal on the car to sreads first. Still alwhile away as the engine needs to get some of this work done to it, but everyone has been very helpfull, when the whole thing is completed it will be ART lolz - im going to take to a head reconditioner about increasing the flow on my head when i take the 2.8l head to get checked out next week, so ill let you know what they say Chers

Thanks guys you are all being alot of help with info im sure this will be a great but lengthy build so think ill get the 2.8l back up and running while im building the new engine it would make it easier if i was in auks i could get some help cause being down her in welly its hard to find places that can do all this for me without having to lug the engine all over the place lolz so if anyone knows contacts down this end of the island can you let me know Um hoping with intake and exhaust ill be getting custom made as a perky from one of my mates, so material plus abit extra on top Yea I think i will go talk to someone at least with the engine not in the car i can get all the parts modified as need be and tested all the parts will be for a turbo setup in the long run well i prob wont run it much or not at all to its complete so should be all good thanks again guys im going to speak to a few nz places about parts so hopefully i can get it sorted Marty Let me know how your modding goes, always keen to get help

Hay Guys Turbo is still a few months away bt was going to be looking at a beast like T70 or TD06 or Garret GT40 something along the lines of supporting 800hp applications and beasty as this is going to be my priceless German Tank Tru havnt had a look into doing the o-rings as well, was going to get gapless top rings for the pistons when i get them. with the conrods kinda want to change them seen im doing the rest, and dont want to screw my engine if the stock ones give out, lolz Tru never head about the MLS gaskets leaking, might look into that cheers, other than that now cam thats something im going to need help with i have no clue when it comes to cam's so any help would be appreciated Thanks 325 that manual will come to good use going to put it in the 2.8l as a run around to i complete the 3.5l build just about got last parts but think courier companys dont like me lolz

More prices all around the same convert from usd to nz from Vac motors high performance VAC valves are +1 over sized $659 VAC valve springs. They are a superior dual spring setup $443 Arrow Precision con rods they include ARP rod bolts $2604 VAC/ CP Pistons excel at turbo applications. In standard bore size @ 8.5:1 CR $1972 Let you know once i got more info and how the project goes over time

Hi Guys Yea i have sorced a m30B35 from Brent which should be getting soon, i will be looking initaly arround the 450-600hp mark once the turbo is on but i figure get my engine built for more than 500hp i should be able to have some fun Yea looking at link G3 for the ecu - so ethier ill get my ECU or internals done this time round with my cash and wait another few months to do the rest of it ive had a talk with topcat about what he used and i could get the sorta power i want without to many mods but i want my engine to be able to compare to my wildest dreams, big $$$ but i think itl worth it in the long run Im sure ill be posting it all up once it gets going only got a wof till september and my 2.8 is bust cause found water in the cylinders, but if i can get that fixed cheap ill use that to drive round in a rebuild the engine i am getting from brent Any help as i said would be great OR any sources for parts in nz would be appreciated Cheers

Hi Guys As some may know i am in the process of getting parts for my project, i am getting quotes from both the states and nz so once i done this ill let you guys know just in case anyone is looking at the moment ive found Injectors are cheapest from the states without a doubt, unless anyone knows anywhere in nz cheap pricing so far all from US converted to NZ $ $1200-1700 JE forged pistons, 2000 Forged conrods, $272 MLS Head Gasket .70, $272 Head stud set, $207 Main stud set Fuel pump $200-500 depending on type if anyone has NZ prices can they let me knowor places to go just waiting on a few email replys ive decided maybe to do my internals before putting a turbo on figure i can have more fun if the internals are all new. has anyone had there valves etc done if so can you let me know if its worth it CHeers i will be updating this post as i get the info

Hi guys im going to be putting a e34 m30b35 into my e28, and ive read forums re wiring and just wanted to know if anyone has done this, some people have said the ecu will reach to my gearbox other have said it doesnt. can any one shed some light on this for me Cheers

Hi Guys Im currently in the progress of doing a conversion over to a manual at the moment, i currently have a 86 e28 528i which i will be putting a m30b35 in it, i have a getrag 260.6 gearbox and was wundering if its worth me swapping my diff to get more out of the engine/gearbox can anyone shed some light on this for me. Hi Guys Ive being offered a e34 535i 1988 engine and was wundering how much missing i would have to do to put it into my e28 and does it need anything extra done except for swaping over the sump, i currently have a e28 528i which after taking the cylinder head off on the w.e found water sitting on top of 4 of my cylinders (gutting) - looked for cracks couldnt see any and dont know if head is warped now is it worth doing the engine swap or fixing the 2.8ltr engine if i do the swap will i need to get a cert, wouldnt think so cause not 20% power gain Any knowledge or help would be apperciated

A guy down in wellywood its being sitting round for ages like 1yr its kinda funny someone hasnt come at night and taken stuff off it lolz. Yea i will prob just work on the m30, yea ive had a look at topcats one but didnt manage to get the finance for the whole thing which sux, so i decided i would do my interior and engine swap, then do the aftermarket work on it. the most funny thing i went to mag and turbo to price turbo's and they said a little evo 3 turbo would work, and i was like its not a matchbox car.... going to need something bigger they wernt much help lolz Yea with headers etc, will hopefully get it done as a perky but im going to start taking pics so i can put a post up on my project once i get started more

Hi Guys i was just wundering what kinda mish it would be putting a m62 engine i think it is into a e28, or if anyones intreseted i found one for a 1k thats running, i was thinking about getting it for myself then realised that i would have to take the auto aswell and ive bourght a manual conversion for my m30 engine but would it be worth putting a newer engine in my car or just go with the m30 engine and flag spending big cash on certs etc Cheres
