Compression - was fine last time i checked can check this w.e Valve clearances - havnt being checked, Distributor cap - old so might get it replaced, but am going to indivigual igition coils shortly Spark plug leads - ill try another set i have Resistor cap on lead - will check this w.e Dud injector - will check this w.e - as have spares No pulse to that injector - can hear it click And thanks gives me something to do beside pull two engines out and change clutches for my sis cause i blew one trying to put the bimmer back in the garage last w.e with a flat as compressor was broken Cheers all wish we had somewhere in welly that would actually look at my car and listen when i told them what ive checked Cheers

Hi All as ongoing problems go i think i have finally sussed it out, in passing i managed to start my car twice in a row awsome but now i have worked it out its not firing all the cylinders right as the car runs rough and you can basically take the last cylinder off and it runs the same lots of smoke coming out, the ecu i was given with the car was i 535ia and the engine was out of a 7 series, would this affect the timing or do i need to do something like slightly move the crank sensor Please help me as if i get the timing right might actually be able to drive the car without destroying it Cheers body e28 - ecu and loom out of e32 well besides ecu i was given hope thats not the prob

Hay Brent Nice engine looks the same as the one ya sold me, having intermittiant issues with it not starting when warm but hay Do you know if the center console would fit a e28, also do you have the coolant reservoir plus pipes as i think my coolant reservoir on the e28 is real low and think it could be part of the prop Also do you know if its worth changing the acclerater cable from the e28 to a better one as mines shot and had to cut the end Cheers

Hi Guys Plz check my posts but i maybe coming to the conclusion that the ecu i have for my e32 engine is dying as wont start after first start idling irregular once started if anybody has one how much? and do you recommend dme 1.1. or 1.3 in the e32

OK guys after changing my colling setup around which would work if i could of got the car to start again to bleed the system i can start first pop even on 5 cylinders after its being sitting for a few days but after thats its a no go to get started again it has m30b35 e32 ecu, some electical probs but seem minor 1. does any one in welly or up palmy way know nethang and wont to help a fourm member out before the car gets scraped after 2 yearsw of mind numbing breakdowns 2. or know how to diagnose the e32 with e28 wiring enough to work out whats going wrong..... Let me know what to do

Sweet sounds like im going to have to put the coolant valve on the back of the engine and find a new hose to put through. hopefully dont need to take the engine out should be enough room to do it. My cars have always run hot so think i need a new raidiator but ill try the coolant pipe first. Also does anyone know if i cut the firewall pannel that hides the fan etc if i would still pass a warrent. also about cutting things, can you cut anything off the e28 eg. the but were the radiator sits seems to have a extra gap on the right hand side (facing the way the car is) would i need to get a cert or would i get away with it can provide pic if you want to see what i mean Cheers

Hi All I have put the e32 m30b35 engine into my car all is fine, but 1.major issue - the car started fine first then after turning it off it wont start after it is hot the coolant says its not hot eg 120c but the engine itsself will just bout burn my hand - should i try put extra cooling eg coolant pipe coming out the back or a oil cooler to rectify this as i wont get a warrent if i cant even drive it and not be able to restart if i stall, also is there a way to do a diag test on a e32 wiring without the plug n play tool CHeers

Yea no Vaccum leaks just weird the car runs fine and then when ever i want to take it for a drive ( got no wof or reg at mo) so just down the road and it likes to die and not start again or just turns over but sounds like it doesnt fire properly but thats life might just have to surive to upgrade the engine and ecu

Hi Have just replaced spark plugs, and cleaned oil pump etc now does any one know how long it takes to reset the ecu, and recalibrate so at least it runs better as its stalling due to tempramental idol at the mo, doesnt have a batt on it very often Can anyone help as need it running good so i can go put some petrol in it, while its cheap lolz

HI all Ive being having massive issues with my car running right after the conversion, i got a oil pressure gauge and amazingly it was jumping all over the place so suspect my oil pump is having issue so i decided to undo my oil sump and try take it off, and i got it stuck and couldnt put it back on, does anyone have a quick way to get it or am i going to have to lift the engine up or drop the front cross members off to get at it argh, just wish i had the cash to get it converted and worked over for my turbo otherwise i wouldnt waste\ well not waste my time fixing it and getting it going, also the engine is hot even tho coolant is not so do figure oil issue, seen the car just stops and then wont start but turns over ..... and im not taking it to a mechanic cause most of them said they wont touch it or they look and go get a new car but its my baby of 3 years with 1 engine swap, any help would be appreciated

On my e28 - with e32 m30b35 i am having real issues getting my bottom bolt which broke but grinded down the manifold to make it fit on there, the issue being i think all the thread is strpped and i cant get the bolts out i tried cause there was 4 of them, also the manifold is cracked so it mite be stuffed and warped, anyone have any bright ideas how to get it to hold or on getting the exhuast studs out, tried the double bolt trick but it just spins once its fully tightened otherwise i think im going to stuff my engine cause its leaking oil not lots but the exhaust its not even sealed lolz Cheers

Hi Guys after doing all my re-wiring i have come into the problem my coolant gauge on my instrument cluster isnt working, it is getting power cause gauge moves when i turn on power - check wiring that singal is comming from gets between 0.0 - 0.8v going up as car gets hotter but not showing on gauge any ideas cause being driving with my volt meter going in lolz.

Hay Man Sorry to Hear that your car is gone, and really sorry to say that its prob already in bits or getting there Ill ask around a few people i know in welly and let you know if anyone has it or seen it... and given the fact that someone i know can take my bmw when its double locked and imobilised in about 30secs it would of prob been at least a semi pro that did it in broad daylight Hope it does show up, keep a eye at pick a part and the wrekers round welly

I Fully reakon that you find out what type of alarm it actually is, then email the alarm company i did that with uniden and they provided all the manuals for me and really helped me out when it didnt work properly and im sure mongoose would prob do the same Cheers

firstly would check - is the pump getting power are the houses squashed at all then fuel feed in the tank could be sealed by the accident start from electrical - then to blockages etc cause i have dented both my e28 fuel tanks and they seem fine

Hi i know wrong forum but figured give it a try im wanting to see if anyone has made or know where i can get a odb connector so i can link up my pc to my car and use the diagnostics, i have a 92 e32 engine so i figure should be able to use something like this right your thourts plz

I reakon have a look on the net and check real oem i replaced my fuel pump with one out of another bmw but being as it was bosh and had same pressure etc and worked fine what sort of car do you have? just reakon if all else fails im sure someone on here might be able to swap you or give you a cheap one

Yea thort about that but the tach is controlled by the tachsensor and im geussing thats the wire i need to find and none of my wiring diagrams help cause i cant find ethier the one on the e28 or e32 loom they said for tach - black goes to black/brown but no luck can find it leading from the tach but then nowhere else and dont want o have to pull my interior out again

Hi Guys quick run down. e28 shell with e32 m30b35 motor, have used e28 fuse box and e32 loom and ecu (getgrag 260/6) now my only problem after solving my fuel problem thanks to Glen (pipes round the wrong way), ive run into the problem that im not getting any tach readings or speedometer which linked into the tach. my problem being that i cant find the wire on the e28 main loom that connects to the e32 loom(or does it not) ive looked through all my wiring diagrams and electrical books and im stumped can some please help me OR im thinking that my speed sensor is in the gearbox that has wires coming from it???? cheers kym

I Agree that is Damn mint as, very smart if you look on the net its simple to increase displacement of the m90 block to 3.7 with no drama wereas you know having to bore out a m30 in change stroke etc to get power $$$
