  1. Jaysus, the fonts tiny ! Its almost worth logging in every five minutes just to see whats going on !!
  2. If you want to see what Anglo Pacific do, try a search on me to see what they did to my 7. The posts will be a few years old now. Its not pretty and you wont want to go anywhere near them after seeing the photos. Bunch of *(&*%$#W Some snaps in this thread
  3. 7k and its yours Beers defo on, after this week I bloody need one !
  4. Emily its a for sale thread not a chat room. Youve had more exposure than any other for sale thread on NBS and its time this one was closed.

    The bastard child.

Its got to be a road car surely, or at least a road car prep'd for track days. After doing all that work you want to drive it as much as possible scaring the hell out of all the hondaz on the street
  6. Just to re-iterate whats already been said by Glenn. Disconnect the battery before doing anything and you should be fine. Yes the clips can brake but if youre careful there is no reason why they should. Forget about glueing them back on if they do brake they are peanuts from the dealer so treat yourself to some new ones. You will need to put everything back together again before reconnecting the battery and if the airbag light comes on talk to Vijay at Page European (3828218) and find out which sparky he uses to reset the light. It should take no more than a couple of mins and if your lucky a box of beers but it depends on the sparky. The reason the airbag light came on when you did the seat is probably because you put the seat back in after reconnecting the battery, or at least reconnected the seat cabling after connecting the battery. Always do that last and you should be ok. Finally, dont always listen to what Jeff Grey tell you. 99% of the time they are talking out of their ar$e. They just werent impressed that you did the work yourself rather than take it into them so they could charge you an arm and a leg.
  7. So reading between the lines tells me I need a new thermostat. Dizzy cap is a close second

    The bastard child.

Awesome Tony, dont take too long over it mate !
  9. As keen as I am to keep the 318is looking as standard as possible, these Borbets are damn tempting.....but could I sell the 18' Alpinas for them
  10. Picked the car up an hour ago and I have my first issue. Warm air coming through the vents etc, but the temp guage didnt go above the blue the whole trip back to Wellington. About 15 mins on the motorway and then five mins city driving. By the time I got home it was a little warmer but not by much. Now the heat out of the vents was warm but I wouldnt say it was hot. So is this likely to be the water pump on its way out ? Ill have a fiddle with the hoses tomorrow to ensure the water is all going round but as I get warm air in the cabin I wouldve thought that was a given. Was a great drive though, its like a sewing machine ! Cant remember the last time I kept a car above 5k revs
  11. But then you smashed it....poetic almost
  12. Hi Collette, Ive just moved this to the Want to Buy section in the hope more people will see it than the New Members Introductions.
  13. Hahahaha, thats gold.....pumping up your tyres to pass a WOF......quality.
  14. Glenn has beaten me to it. We looked at A-classeseses last year and they are RUBBISH. We had the best one we could find tested and yet it still had a fault sheet as long as my arm....it was two pages. They look like fantastic little town cars, but the gearboxes were usually knackered, the interiors were falling apart, they ride was harsh. If you want an alternative to an e36, get a Focus.
  15. I dont disagree Tony, the bonnet is being replaced but the bootlid appears to only have rusted underneath a truely awful paint repair. When I get it off the car, get the spoiler off and get the paint off, I should know just how bad it is. Having said that bootlids are expensive so if the paint job is minimal Ill just do that !
  16. Anyone have an idea on what it should cost to prep and paint an e30 bonnet, bootlid and drivers door ? I can get all the parts relatively easily but I want to be sure replacing and painting these parts is going to be cheaper than just getting them repaired. The bonnet on the 'is' is rusted, the door is bent with the two knocks its had and the bootlid has rust under the spoiler and has had a paint job done by a blind man with touretts so is probably touch and go with needing replacing rather than just fixing. So Im just checking out the options before I decide what to replace and what to repair. Cheers
  17. Id say 'as you are' mate. 235/40 and 265/35 is the correct size for 8's and 9's. I have seen people with 245 on the front (255 even) and either 255 or 275's on the rear, but what you have now is what I would do. Just hurry up and get them on......Ill have a new car before you get the wheels sorted !! Oh, I need to talk to you about your Bayerns too
  18. Yeah for the seller, boo for the buyer ! Its Westpac that have put the hold on it. Apparantly its often done when the receiving account is getting an amount of a size it doesnt usually receive and I couldve signed something with my bank yesterday to say I wont reverse the payment. Trick for new players.
  19. Ar$e. The sellers bank has added an extra day onto the money transfer to be sure I wont reverse the transfer so I wont be able to collect the car until tomorrow night. Gutted
  20. Get rid of the tyres youve just bought before you ruin them on the shocks, flick the 16's you have now which are clearly not the right offset. Buy some standard bottlecaps with tyres for peanuts and buy some proper wheels and tyres when you have the coin. Sorted.
  21. Buy a set of standard 16' rims on trademe for a couple of hundred with half decent tyres and sell the chromes seperately. There are plenty of options in the standard wheels and you will open up to a much bigger market. I just did that with the touring and I sold the car for the asking price and still have a couple of grands worth of Alpinas sitting in my garage. If Id sold them with the car I wouldve been lucky to get another $500. Strip it back to standard sell for a little less than your asking and flick the rims yourself. I never ceased to be amazed at how well this works. People dont want to buy the finished article, they either have the car already and just want the rims or vice versa.
  22. Someone correct me if Im wrong but I dont know of any wheels that fit 3's, 5's, 6's and 7's. They may all be 5x120 but the offsets are way out between them. You might want to change the auction before you sell them to someone who has trouble getting them on the car.
  23. Im interested, although its often been cheaper to get them from ebay.
  24. Come on people lets at least try to keep this on topic shall we. If anyone wants to buy the car get in touch with MS BM.
