Im quite aware of what you did two months ago my friend ! But im telling you the two at the end are not botls. They are dome shaped and rusted to hell. Its like someone just melted down a lump of rust and put a whacking great dollop of it on there !

Hmmmm, Ive got no double sided tape and the ends are definately not bolted, they are rusted solid !

So I want to give mine a good clean and take it apart to paint it. Im talking about removing the plastic but from the rubber bit here obviously. Ive removed the center 'bolt' but the two end ones are completely rusted and I cant tell if they should be bolts or if they are not supposed to be removed. Any ideas anyone ?

Its getting you lot talking about it though isnt it....some would say thats its only intention.

Update time and Im feeling happy.....pick up some tyres this evening for the Alpinas, so they can go back on, and Ive just picked up an m-tech 1 rear wing for 40 bucks Car is now on KYB shocks and King springs (30mm drop) which Im loving. Ive driven cars on various mixtures of bilstein, boge, eibach, jamex etc and I can say these are a great compromise for handling and ride and are excellent value for the money. Firm but not bone shakingly hard (which at my age is a blessing). So its going to be a busy weekend getting the Alpinas cleaned up and painting the tech1 rear wing but Im looking forward to it Ill stick some more pics on when Ive got everything on....still looking for some SE side skirts though....give me a shout if you have any you want to get rid of.

Yes and its been discussed at length many, many times before. No matter what the plates look like, if they are not manufactured by the LTSA or one of their authorised members the plates are illegal.

Not true. The old 'cotton reel' wheels have the valves on the rim just like everything else.Only the newer Alpina wheels (I think they call them 'softline' or something) have the hidden air valves.

Do a google on the web for schnitzer stripes and you'll see what I mean. More than two stripes but pretty tasteful pinstripes if you ask me.

Something doesnt look right. Those center caps are completely wrong. The locks should have covers over them and they are a basic key shape, not a 'round' key that it looks like these have. The badges are wrong too, not only because they are BMW and not Alpina, but they look too big and look like theyve been stuck on, rather than sitting flush. Also the lip on them doesnt look right, it appears to have an 'edge' around it which it shouldnt have. Im not saying they arent real but Id want to see them in the flesh to confirm whether they are genuine or not.

Now that I can understand Oh and I forgot to mention (although its not much use to you Fen) but if your info panel on the dash is missing pixels there is a place in Auckland that can repair them for 400 dollars. Ive had mine done and its superb. In the States BMW recognise it as a fault and they replace the unit free of charge, you pay for the labour. In the UK they accept it as a fault but you have to pay for the unit and the labour, but the dealers in NZ dont even know its a problem and wont do anything ! Just thought Id mention it incase anyone else is suffering the problem. Because I know its a big issue around the world....with e38's especially.

Why not just keep the touring ? Especially with all the toys you have in it.

Dont forget that most BMW's already have some tint in the windows before you start. So when you put the 35% on you immediately go over the limit.
