  3. Hi guys, The gfs mums e36 failed a WoF for front ball joints being dropped (no surprise here). Just wanting to get an opinion on which way is the best to go with replacing them. Stick with genuine ones or is there a suitable aftermarket one?? I have tired to use repco ones in my e36 before but they do not fit the bmw dealers tool so they refused to fit them. Her car is a 1997 318i the dealer reckons they need the chassis number to give her a price, arnt the e36 ball joints all the same? Cheers Niroy
  4. Hey mate, could be shorting when it rains or the wires/ components get wet? I know in my e36 the Body Control Module "BCM" is playing up or something has fried in it. My windows will only work when a door is open, and my interior lights do not work as they just blow fuses. Could be a similar issue occurring to your vehicle? (please don't quote the entire OP when you're the first reply)
  5. Hey guys, Would the 1997 e36 headlights fit the earlier 1992 e36?? Just wondering if the facelift grills change the shape of the lens etc. Cheers Niroy
  6. My 92 325i (production 9/92) had the 25mm sway bar which connected to the lower arm. Like said above, buy your suspension with the strut droplink tab. I converted mine to this set up, Im running Sanchs Sporting suspension with m3 evo 23.3mm sway bar and drop links. Works a treat.
  7. Hi guys have a set of e36 goodridge lines, this set is the 4 piece set. Purchased a while ago but my car required a 6 piece set. They are brand new and still has packaging and warranty card. These lines are WoF approved and do not require a cert. You can get the extra 2 hoses made up by race brakes for around $95+ a piece. I believe that the front hoses are the same, as is the rear rear section (mounting to caliper) just does not have the rear front section. $150 ( just trying to recover my cost) Cheers
  8. I was wondering if this car still existed the other day, well i guess i found my answer. Sad to see it go like that. I wonder where Ketzal went? Didnt high octane also build an r32 (DRGSTR) or something..
  9. Guess what guys, just got a call from the bmw dealer saying that the bushes arrived this morning. Way to freak me out! Thanks for the input from all of you. Cheers Niroy

  14. Hi Glenn, I ordered that bush from a bmw dealer and they told me that there is none in NZ. Was wondering do you think that i could get someone to remove a bush from a 2nd hand subframe? least that way the car can be put back together untill the new bush comes. I didnt have the correct removal tool but someone who does should be able to take it out without breaking it?
  15. Hi guys Putting my e36 325i rear end back together, i ordered the front diff carrier bush from bmw last week (part # 33171134871). I now find out that it is ex Germany and a 2 week wait, i need the car back on the road by next Wednesday. What should i do? I have already removed the bush and its pretty munted. Any help or ideas would be great. Cheers Niroy

  18. I put JVC CS-FS60 16cm front speakers and components into my e36 with very little modifications. The speakers fit into the hole sweet, only had to modify the speaker cover. It looks factory and you cannot see the speakers.

    LSD cost

Oh ok, so do you have both the high and lower offset lsd centres?

    LSD cost

Yeah ill be keen, i might have to price up what it would cost to fit. Will your centre fit the 3.15 ratio? I was told there are a few offsets depending on ratios. Hmm i could fit it maybe, but i have never done anything to do with diffs so maybe leave to experts. Any idea of what it costs to install? Do the lsd plates have to be repacked or anything?

    LSD cost

Hi guys, Well have the diff out of my car as im doing repairs on the sub frame its a 3.15 medium case e36 diff. While its out im tempted in getting an lsd. have noticed you can buy just the lsd centre, does it cost more to have it installed then to purchase the whole lsd diff?? I know people reckon steelie gears in Auckland are the guys to see about doing the diff, I live in Tauranga/Rotorua is there anyone around here that could install it?
