Thanks mate, yeah my suspension is my first stop! I have aimed at replacing most bushes i consider to be worn out or sloppy. Already i can notice the difference. In general i am using pelican parts mainly because of how cheap some of the parts are, also i would only be paying one shipping price. Turner motorsport has so many things i wish i could have though!

Hi guys, I will be putting a new engine into my 1992 e36 325i (non-vanos) within the next few months. I am currently gathering parts together to make life easier. I left my build list at work so i will post that tomorrow when i get the time. The car im aiming to build will be a street car which i can take to the track. I would like some advice/ help in choosing parts which i will require for my build. I am currently looking at buying m3 engine mounts, new tranny mounts and ali thermostat housing from pelican parts. If i was to purchase oil seals/ gaskets which ones are prone to leaking? Baring in mind shipping weight. Cheers Niroy

bump. still in the market
-
Is it an automatic? If so dont touch the exhaust!
-
Yeah i would say vacuum leak too.
-
If it was the coils wouldnt you feel a miss? I know i had a miss when one of my coils went.
-
Hmm, if i am pulling my engine out i wonder if i should look into changing the manifold while im doing everything else. do you know if the manifold would mount straight to the 325i exhaust system?
-
Was thinking, is there any difference in flows etc between a 328i header exhaust manifold and a 325i cast-iron manifold? If the 328i inlet manifold is "strangled" is the exhaust too?

Haha, tinting within reason, not painting it black. They looked ok maybe 3 years ago when it was rarer to see cars with tinted lights, now every noob in their toyota corolla has had them done!
-
Haha it was you bidding me up! this should make the dirty36 more fun
-
Any one got the latest performance car mag? there is a section in there surrounding this issue. I think it said they can be tinted providing it does not affect light levels in normal driving conditions or something like that.
-
Haha yeah, funnily enough my budget was $900. I was looking into just buying an lsd centre last year which was going to cost me $600 then it would have needed to be fitted. Figured this would have cost around the same. Someone wanted to keep bidding me up haha.

I guys i am starting to do a project on my car, i require a other M50b25 non-vanos engine to replace the one in my e36. Prefer to pick up engine from Hamilton or the BOP but i could look into getting one shipped from elsewhere if its at the right price. Wanting one with reasonably low kms. Will also be after a E30 flywheel, starter motor and E21 throwout bearing figured i would do the flywheel conversion while i have the engine out. Will be after more parts later aswell. Cheers Niroy

What BBS said. Also maybe diff bushes?? Or even the driveshaft donut. How many Kms has it done?? if your really unlucky it could be subframe mount failure.
-
Just lower it some more! haha
-
Thanks Ray i will confirm with you this weekend if i still need it.
-
As topic states. Price for a M50 non-vanos oil filter housing. Cheers Niroy
-
Hi Brent, I have noticed that the oil filter housing on a vanos engine is different to a non-vanos. They seem to have issues with o-rings which is located around the vanos banjo. The diagrams show a difference
-
Have got some pictures now. Im pretty sure that it is leaking from the housing, almost looks like its leaking from around the rear gasket or just below the oil pressure sensor.
-
Yeah i had alot more weld on mine! Mind you i actually tore out the left rear mount in mine so it was a bit more of a mission. I also cut through the skin at the top and gusseted the mounting points as well. My underbody was covered in tar also so i had to re tar it so it did not look too obvious haha. I done the rear trailing arm bushes while i was at it... Have you done the front bush in the subframe carrier?? I done it as mine had cracks, so did my diff mounts rubbers. The fuel tank is easier to put in I reckon, you may want to remove that bracing which the exhaust rubber mounts onto so that you have more room to manoeuvre the driveshaft to push the tank up ( I done all this on the floor of the garage by my self). Oh and maybe put the upper and lower arm into the subframe first… You may have to improvise with clips for the sensors and wires to mount too haha.
-
Hi guys. Well my car has developed an oil leak… it’s a 92 m50 325i. It seems to be leaking from around the oil filter housing?? Is there any common oil leak places I should be looking at? Its hard to pin-point the leak because oil has travelled all over the side of the block and onto the sump, steering rack etc. Is it much of a mission to remove the oil filter housing? I know my description is vague, I will try get a picture when the sun comes out. Cheers Niroy

Did you have fun pulling out the fuel tank? For me that was the hardest part of fitting these plates. Did you get them from pelican parts? I had mine on axle stands when i done this and in the middle of summer ha! They are definitely worth the effort!
