  1. Hi Guys, So my fuel and temp light stopped working the other day on the 325i and my OBC displayed the tail light failure message. Apparently its pretty common (googled it) but with various causes. Anyone had this happen to them? I read somewhere the tail lights can short from corrosion and cause this situation, so I unplugged both of them and pushed the pedal with a new fuse and it blew it straight away. Looks like it will be a weekend of wire searching… any ideas??
  2. I thought about making a manifold like this one... might help you with your design unless you are going hard out with the manifold. I purchased 2 50mm v bands $41.50each and a twin scroll t4 flange 28$ today so i can now make the bracket to hold the turbo off the block and start chopping up exhausts to get the bends
  3. I used a m20 6.5kg flywheel and a carbon kevlar clutch with m20 starter. By the time you factor a higher through out bearing, new slave cyl and bolts it was around $1000+. I know on Trademe you can get a combo for around that price. Food for thought...
  4. Hey mate, In my e36 325i that plug is blanked off. I thought it was for cruise control... correct me if im wrong.

Hey mate, where did you get the oil cooler cap adaptor? Does it regulate oil flow when its hot/cold?
  6. I put 4 cyl jamex superlows in the front of my old e36 325i. it dropped it below 100mm on 17" wheels which had 45 profiles.
  7. Just to add something else into the mix. Miller- WAR chip. WAR chip Cheaper then the link plug in.
  8. Was browsing the net, to my horror..
  9. You got me stumped there James. Last time the wheel was on the car was around 12 months back, i should have taken pictures before removal. From memory offset was around the same as a standard e36. Only noticeable difference was the diameter. If you google momo millenium e36 it will give you some idea of how it sits.
  10. Nice little wheel for e36 bmw, was fitted to a non airbag type car. May also fit e30. Smaller in diameter then the standard e36 wheel. $100

    Need advice

Isnt XY a ford? I dont know where im going with this haha.
  14. Thats reassuring! Did you notice any brake pedal travel change?? Are you using standard rotors and pads?
  15. I did think about running the 330i front set up with the e46 325/8i rear set up. The thing which worried me is the increased front brake bias and the increased pedal travel. The best compromise is using the e46 325/8i brake set up. Then the bias will not be affected, in fact it will introduce more rear bias. But ideally i would run the e36 m3 front setup with the e46 325/8i rear. I will see what is available, and the prices and make my decision.
  16. Hey all, After front complete brake calipers and rotors, 300X22 And rear complete brake calipers and rotors, 294X19 These are fitted to the e46 325i/328i Not worried about the brake pad condition but the rotors must be in good condition. Willing to pay between $300-400. Also could be interested in e36 M3 front brakes and hubs for the right price. Thanks Niroy 0211678925
  17. Ive got a new set of goodridge e36 lines sitting at home, however they are only the four piece set. Im not sure if there is any differance in lengths and threading. PM me if interested.

Has anyone had experience with oil cooler set ups on a M50? I was unable to figure out a way to install my oil cooler into the oil filter housing. I have noticed that there are a few varieties of housing types; is anyone better then the other to tap or weld? Where would be the best place to tap into on the housing to return the cooled oil? I have looked into an Ireland Engineering oil filter adaptor cap which is designed to channel oil though an oil cooler. If anyone is interested it will cost around $200 each shipped, that’s if I can get 4 people to buy in. Adaptor

Cheers James, Yeah am running the viscous fan on the inside and a 16†electric on the outside. For some reason my fan controller is being an ass and won’t kick the fan in, so I set it up on a toggle switch until I sort it out. Im using an 80º thermostat to try and keep everything cool. I am very paro about overheating and head gaskets as that was the demise of my old engine, although I have done a head gasket change on an M50 before I would prefer not to again. The elbow mounts directly to the MAF sensor, it is just a factory airbox chopped up and epoxied together. It is a tight fit below the headlight I had to remove the headlight adjuster to make it all fit, not sure if I should just scrap the whole idea and go back to a stock box. Although my cold air intake cost me a good part of $100 bucks and has some “bling†factor. I will book a time with BMW sometime this week, gives me piece of mind etc.

    E36 Freshen up

Hey guys! Well I finally have pictures and updates of this build! Everything is back together. Ended up taking my time putting it together in the end. Pictures are of: • Clutch components new ball pivot, UUC braided clutch line new slave cylinder • Modified starter motor bracket • Derlin shifter carrier bush • M3 engine mounts • Cold air intake setup • New centre bearing • Electric fan mounted • Pictures of how it looks. Car started fine, still trying to bleed every bit of air out of the system (damin e36 cooling systems). Questions/issues… • Electric fan is controlled by a fan controller unit and have set it to cut in at 86°. Does anyone know what the correct running temp should be? • My injectors are very nosey and weren’t before I started my project. Any remedies for this? • I have never driven on a new clutch; it has a bit of shudder, will this reduce as the clutch beds in? • Im a bit nervous about the moisture emitted out the exhaust … Will take it to bmw and get them to put it on there computer before I try and drive it further then down the road. It looks good overall, I just hope I get to enjoy it soon.
  22. Congrats Glen! you have done very well!
  23. Yeah it does, but the ones i have seen dont have those oil cooler line holes.
  24. This just makes me want to finish my car asap! Just by using the most appropriate mods they made this e36 325i alot faster then it was standard.
