  1. I bid on the $45k one although wasn’t all that serious about it at the time - I thought it would sell for more and if I bought it I’d still be hankering for a LCI. It wasn’t meant to be as trademe had a connection error as the auction was closing. I know that sounds like a yarn but I’ve got a screenshot of it! With new model out I reckon prices might fall a little bit more yet.
  2. Thanks for that - 54 cars in my market is more that I thought there would be. I’ve sold my daily driver now so I’m in a good position to buy when the right one comes along.
  3. Wow, 111 is a big number and a lot more than I would have thought. Do you know how many of those are LCI? I’m on the lookout for one.
  4. Sorry to hear about this. I can only imagine your frustration. What company have you served the stat demand on? Shred Industries Limited? If so that company is due to be removed from the Companies Office for not filing an annual return. On the 23rd of July he has formed a new company "Shred Motorsport Limited". Three guesses why... Also, for the guy that is having some work done by these guys at the moment - get your car out of there ASAP or face a saga with liquidators.
  5. My M5 is an identical spec to this (or at least it was). It now has retrofitted Bluetooth, 16:9 bordmonitor and VM, MK4 Nav, Rev camera etc. it looks to me like the trim inserts of this car have been painted / wrapped - they should be wood trim. I saw this car in the flesh at Hampton Downs BMW Festival a year or two ago. It was in pretty good condition. I think mine is a bit better although it's done more kms. I've had mine for 5 years or so. The amount of mis-information out there about these cars is amazing. Generally it's people with no first hand experience who blow the trumpet about how unreliable (ie VANOS) they are and how expensive they are to run / maintain - never been able to work this out but always suspected it was their way of justifying buying a lesser (ie non "M") car. Maybe I've been lucky but mine has cost me less than my wife's Octavia vRS in servicing / maintenance over the same period.
  6. Yeah, I'd like to think mine is better condition too. Plus it also has Nav, Bluetooth, reversing camera, etc.
  7. Ideally I'd like to keep it and also get something like a 911 or the weekends.
  8. I've considered selling mine (had it for 4 years) but without spending at least double the money what can you replace it with? The obvious choice would be a M3 or RS4 but compared to my car the RS4 is missing a lot of spec. The M3 on the other hand has the spec but still asks quite a high price. Neither of them have the low-end shove either.
  9. I retrofitted OEM Bluetooth in my E39 M5 and I'd recommend going down that path rather than aftermarket.
  10. Interesting. What do you mean by AV in mod? Hooking up the Aux in or moding the VM / Radio module to play in stereo? If it's the latter can you please post a link?
  11. I want to add a reversing camera to my E39. I already have MK4 Nav and 16:9 BM retro fitted. I see there are a couple of options on TradeMe - both are members here I think. Which is best or is there a better options from the UK or Europe that someone can direct me to? Cheers Matt
  12. Correct. Who has the know-how to do this? Anyone here?
  13. I'm keen to know the answer to this as well. I don't have a reverse camera (yet) but is it something to do with using those inputs for Aux-in (as the audio is still routed through the radio module when reverse camera is active)? If its not that do I need a BM54 or will my BM24 suffice? Cheers Matt
  14. I've had both TCU and ULF in my car. Much better than aftermarket in my opinion. If you choose a ULF you'll also have to fit a pairing button or eject box.
  15. Couldn't get OBD working on the Mini - works great on the M5 though. Next issue is that the WDS navigation works on the left hand side but the image / diagram doesn't show on the right. Has anyone managed to get it workong on IE 9 Windows 7? Once I've got that working I'll connect up to ibus. Cheers Matt
  16. Thanks guys. Going to give it a bit of a service today. WDS never seems to work properly for me. Will try via OBD and report back. It's NZ new so no TV / Nav etc.
  17. A friend of mine has just bought a 2002 Cooper S. We are keen to do use Navcoder and scan each of the modules. I have the resler interface in my M5 where I use the CD changer connector to connect to the ibus. The Mini does not have a CD changer and if it is pre-wired, the wiring is not obvious. Where is the best / easiest place to connect? Thanks in advance.
  18. Are you sure on E39 compatibility? Looks too wide for the armrest.
  19. That video doesn't mean much. Vodafone is 100 times faster where I live than XT, hence why I'm now on Vodafone. I could show a speedtest with the opposite results. We have a reasonably large Telecom bill at work each month and I had them investigate the issue. It transpired that their network did not have the capacity to handle the volume of users after they moved everyone from CDMA. I have emails from Telecom stating this. In fact, data on CDMA was more than twice as fast as XT! Since being on Vodafone I haven't had 1 dropped call. With XT it happened frequently. I'm in Napier so I'm sure it's a different story in Auckland but I just wanted to say that it's not all roses on XT.
  20. Is there an alternative to placing the camera in the number plate lamp? Is there an option to mount the camera off the number plate and / or it's frame? I think Bimmernav do one for US sized plates, anyone seen an option for euro sized plates?
  21. Nope, car is NZ new. It came new with a GSM phone in the armrest so all the wiring was there. I bought the TCU from eBay.de and the ulf from eBay.co.uk. The eject box, wiring adapter and BT antenna came from Bimmernav. TCU was faster to scroll through the address book but stopped working when I upgraded the firmware / software on my old Blackberry, hence buying the ULF. The steering wheel buttons work in the opposite way when scrolling through the address book between TCU (which I'd call the correct way) and ULF. TCU also showed signal strength in the TV although this could be down to the phone. My TCU didn't have Voice Recognition but the ULF does. I've got the Gen 1 ULF and enabled VR with Navcoder. It takes a while to set it up as you have to record each name first but once set up and you have worked the commands out it works well. Gen 1 ULF works well with my iPhone 4 and every other phone I've tried with it. The address book transfers, etc. Caller ID with iPhone doesn't work though but it does work for other phones I have tried.
  22. 16:9 makes it worthwhile. I haven't used a MK3 but the MK4 is really good. I also haven't used Garmin but have used several from the Navman family and its in a different league. So much better than any windscreen mount unit I've come accross.
