I looked at it a while back. The red is not as red as the pics suggest and i could live with it. The interior was a bit rough for me..that plastic coating on a lot of the surfaces around the inside doors with was pretty ragged from memory.

Is it for this car ? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=909524716 I was in Wgtn yesterday for work and went and looked over it and drove it. PM me if you want.

If the bearing issue was a recall then if its a NZ New car....you would think it should have been done by BMW NZ ? Facelift was mainly cosmetic wasn't it ? ....LED rears, boot handle...not much else ?

Cheers.....yeah agreed its not worth $30k. But thanks for other info !

Anyone know anything about this car - good, bad or otherwise ? It may have sold recently in QTown and now up for sale again. Ticks a few boxes - NZ New, Manual and low kms. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-905708685.htm

I can recomend Woodpecker Hill just up the road ;-)

My E30 M3 was also on Gavin's dyno a few weeks ago. Cost simply depends on how long he needs to spend on it to get it right. Glad I waited untill he was back up and running again....patience paid off :-)

Yeah, pump those rears out !

Gavin @ Hi Velocity is finally back up and running !! :-) He spent most of the day yesterday tuning the car. Power delivery is now a lot smoother and sitting a fraction under 190bhp ATW. Next on the to do list is removing the very old original centre resonator which is probably pretty restrictive by now, and maybe some higher flow injectors as the dyno showed they are struggling slightly at the very top end.

Nice, but shame the steering wheel is on the wrong side http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-882944259.htm

Tried messaging you mate, but maybe inbox is full ? Are these Cams old wheels ? Are the centres original paint or have they been restored - look to be a slightly duller darker shade of grey from factory. Could fit my M3 nice - not that I really need another set ! Cheers !

Stunning red facelift E39 M5 getting coffee on Tamaki Drive this morning. Don't see many...if any....in red. Owner didn't want to sell....and I wasn't the first to ask by the sounds !

I disagree. I cross over between the LHD E30 M3 and my RHD Clio and have no problem with LHD at all. Even as a daily I'd be comfortable with it. Only pain is when you pull up to a carpark payment machine !

Very sweet ! You drove mine....can I drive yours ?! :-)

So Hoffman Ford - also have the Sierra Texaco RS500 and the E30 M3 Conv for sale. Quite a collection, or sale on behalf ?

Whats the latest on Gavin Bellars at Hi Velocity ? Is he back up and running, or moved overseas/not tuning anymore ? -
Very nice mate -!! Is this Nik's brothers car - from Napier ? Walnut trim ?

Awesome car. Would love this alongside my M3. If I don't end up getting a 2nd house I've got my eye on .........hmmm.

I have the H&R Sports with Bilsteins on my car. The ride is good - firm, but not too firm for around town and everyday use and the drop is about perfect. If I was fussy I would like the car to sit a little lower in the front, but in the interests of handling over looks I know its better the way it sits as it is.

I got it from John who owns S14 Power who was also incredibly helpful through the whole process. So not Markus directly but I think they are somehow linked so perhaps the same product anyway.

Time for a wee update. I've spent the last few months installing a DTM style CF airbox and an Alpha N management system. These bits came in from Germany, made to an incredibly high standard and the quality of the finish is amazing. I went with 18cm runners and my car has 48mm throttle bodies. I really wanted to have a crack doing the install myself to keep costs down and learn a bit in the process. Removed the old airbox and intake manifold which was super easy and I took the front of the car and the grill off. To get the airbox and the intake to fit nicely I needed to move the electric fan for the radiator over 10cms, and then relocate the brake fuid and transmission fluid bottles. All of this I managed to do by modifiying the existing brackets. Wiring the Alpha N into the ECU harness was my biggest worry initally as cutting ECU wires scares me, but in the insructions that came with the kit were great and it was actually very easy. I needed to buy some proper crimpers wire strippers, heat shrink plastic and a few other tools to do a nice professional job. All worth it in the end. I then installed a TechEdge Wideband O2 system/sensor into the exhaust. This works seamlessly with the Alpha N software, so now the factory Lambda sensor has been removed and car is running a full closed loop system. The Alpha N and Techedge modules sit at the back of the glovebox nicely tucked away so you can hardly tell they are there. Plugging in the laptop is a simple procedure. I'm a total novice on engine tuning, but with the help of some of the overseas M3 forum guys and also big thanks to Josh I've got the car to a tune that I am happy with untill Gavin Bellers is back up and running with his dyno and I'm sure wiil be able to tune it to its full potential. Even out of the box with no tuning on the base map there was a noticable improvement in power/pickup and response. And the noise is amazing. I've got a Supersprint backbox - tootling around town its fine, but give it some beans and it sounds like the old DTM car's of old :-) Outstanding ! I couldn't believe it when I turned the key for the first time and it just fired straight up. I was preparing myself for a massive catastrophe, few saftey checks as it warmed up and I was off for the first drive. The Alpha N is only a piggyback system, so to revert the car back to OEM spec would be a very quick procedure indeed. Though I don't know why anyone would. To further clean the engine bay up I've got new washer bottles, wiring harness and fuse box covers. Also had the rocker cover repainted as it was flaking badly and while that was off BM Workshop checked the valve clearances and shims.

Nice vid Josh. Thanks for sharing !

Is it the one with the white sticker I need to remove ?

I need to remove the chip in my car and get the code off it via an Eprom Reader. I would imagine this is a very quick process ? Does anyone own one in Auckland I could plug into ?
